A deep dark stout with a thin moka head. A rather fishy unsettling cacao lets one predict an unequal stout, but in mouth, this is a pleasant little impy stout, with bitter chocolate, some sweet burned caramel and some lactic notes. A good effort, worth a try. Bottle 2.49$ at Marché Jovi, Gatineau.

A hazy golden ale with a very thin white head. Like Tickler said, this smelled of cream corn, not much spice, a bit like unfermented wort. In mouth, a lightly sweet malt with strong lactic notes, light cloves, the acidity is rather unpleasant. Light alcohol covered by acidity. Well, this one may be yet another infected product. 2.49$ at Joanette, Sept. 2006. Less than 3 months old.

Deeply hazed golden ale with darker floaties with a quickly receeding white head. A light aroma of sweet bublegum and light curacao. In mouth, a lightly spiced sweet malt with oily mouthfeel. Quaffable. Bought at Joanette for 2.29$.

Bottle: Poured a medium yellow color ale with a small bubbly head with minimal retention. Aroma of semi-sweet malt with some subtle spices. Taste of semi-sweet malt with some subtle spices and Belgian yeast make for an OK thirst quencher with limited character. Body is light and carbonation is appropriate. Not bad overall but not something that I will seek out again.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with big foamy dark brown head with good retention. Aroma of roasted malt is weaker then expected and a bit deceiving. Taste of roasted malt is quite subtle with some cheap chocolate note also being noticeable. Body is definitely too watery and carbonation too lively for the style. Definitely lacking some of the chocolate/coffee characteristic that I usually like finding in this style. I don’t understand why this is rated as an average beer when it is plainly worse then just average IMHO.

Bottle: Poured an hazy yellow color ale with a super huge foamy white head with perfect retention. Aroma of wheat with some sourness, which may or may not be intended but is still enjoyable. Taste of wheat is pretty strong with some spices, which probably includes coriander with strong Belgian yeast also present. Finish is dry with a lingering feeling of sourness that doesn’t overshadow the rest of the beer. Body is above average and alcohol swell hidden. Really better then expected from this sometime suspicious brewery.

A hazy yellow beer with a huge white head. The aroma is powerful with some weird spices combined with notes of maple syrup. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of maple syrup, which pretty much totally dominates, and leads to a dry end. It is very carbonated. This, my first maple syrup beer, makes my wonder if maple syrup works well in a beer.

Hazy wit with a thin white head, creamy. Light banana aroma with initial sulfury notes, a bit unpleasant, then lemon and yeast. In mouth, a sour wit without the qualities expected, just a mineral water with milk and lemon, watery bodied. Bottke at l’Autre Oeil, August 4, 2006, 3.85$
