Pour is a almost black with some red highlights around the edge. Aroma is a decent roastyness with some bakers chocolate. Flavor is more roast with bitter chocolate and a bitter finish. Pretty true to the style and something easy drinking but your not going to get board of it.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours clear, dark cherry red with a foamy pink tinged head. Aroma is primarily raspberry. Approaching med body. Flavor is raspberry and cherry is definitely present. Lightly tart/acidic. Very approachable sour. Refreshing.

Marks a clear delineation between Festbier and Marzen, coming across lighter and grainier than its darker cousin, with a corn-tinged sweetness somewhat aggressive for a beer so delicately hopped. The slight, bitter floral streak on the back end provides a modest bit of balance, and nice toasted notes appear as it warms. Gains hints apple and lemon, with a slight caramel note being raised on the fade. Not a bad take on the less-popular Oktoberfest style, but too sweet.

Not sure what I’m drinking—the label says Special Lager is an international-style pilsner, not a Japanese rice lager, but it doesn’t quite seem pilsner-ish, more grainy and sweet than dry and floral, lacking much character beyond toasted corn notes and a gentle, festbier-ish fade. Eh.

Can from Bine & Vine. Pours clear, bright, light copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of citrus and resin. Mildly roasty malt. Med body. Flavor is mildly roasty malt, resin and some citrus. A bit towards a pale ale. Malty but not enough to be undry. Hoppy, but not enough to be harsh. Bitter enough to approach NW greatness. A pretty decent ale.
