Bottle shared by Joes at tasting. Black color, small brown head. Aroma is malts, soy sauce. Flavor is malts, soy sauce again, green apples a bit, whisky / liquor of some kind, boozy a bit. Overall though, not too bad. I don't dislike it.

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before April 2025. Black with only a few beige bubbles on top of it. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, green apple and whisky. Quite sweet, malty, rather roasty, slightly fruity and a little smoky-medicinal taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, peat, whisky, green apple and even some solvent, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, watery mouthfeel, flat. Something definitely went wrong here, there's no head or carbonation whatsoever and the green apple flavour is quite prominent. It's far off the other two great variants of this birthday series, unfortunately this is one of their last beers ever with apparently only one more Stout to make up for it. Disappointing.

Gijtenbloed V2 Huge, fluffy, whipped eggwhite head, cream coloured, over orange-amber beer, veiled. Orangepeel, orangejuice, spicy, herbs, and suggesting sweetness. Tobacco, orange, orangepeel, fruity character, not too sweet. A very little astringency, medium to good carbonation, medium bodied. Special & original! Txs to Stef!

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before May 2024. Hazy, orangeish amber with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, quite fruity, slightly resiny aroma of orange jam, mango and some pine with a touch of honey. Quite sweet, gently fruity, moderately resiny taste of orange jam, honey, pine and some mango, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly peppery finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Way less fresh than the base beer I tried just a few days ago, much more honey noticeable. At least more balanced than many other beers with peppers, still nothing I'm really looking for. Base beer was good, this variant is just so-so, not only because of the peppers. Don't get the lemongrass by the way.

Sweetish, quite fruity-resiny, a bit floral aroma of mango, orange jam, some pine and a touch of grapefruit. Gently sweet, moderately bitter, quite fruity-resiny and a bit floral taste of orange jam, mango, pine and traces of grapefruit, followed by a medium long, gently bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Tasty DIPA, nicely classic, clean and well-balanced.

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before April 2025. Pitch black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, quite roasty, slightly fruity aroma of dark chocolate, mocha, rum, coconut, hazelnut, vanilla and even hints of lime and mint. Fairly sweet, malty, very roasty, gently fruity taste of coconut, hazelnut, licorice, dark chocolate, mocha, hazelnut, vanilla and rum, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter, just a bit boozy, slightly earthy finish. Full body, very smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Great Imperial Stout, even better than the Belle Meade version. Very thick and smooth, superbly balanced, a real pleasure. Best beer by De Natte Gijt so far.
