12 oz can purchased at the Safeway in Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. Brewed on date 62122 per the sticker on the six pack holder. The pour is a clear orange golden with a well formed one inch slight off whitte head. Pretty lace as it slowly falls. The aroma is cereal grain, almost a rye spice and pine bitterness. The taste is the clean fresh cereal grain, a softly toasted malty element, and then moves into the pine bitter hops. Very much old school West Coast IPA flavors. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation and the dry bitter pine finish.

Deep copper and dark red coloured body with a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts with some light coffee and earth along with a dry grainy note with some metal astringency and a dash of macadamia nuts as well. Medium-bodied; Rich earthy notes show with a good deal of toasted nuts and grainy malts along with a light hit of coffee towards the end with some chocolate as well near the finish. Aftertaste is rich and earthy with the malts hitting hard along with some metallic astringency and a touch of grain with a little bit of sweetness at the end. Overall, a pretty nice, very robust and earthy, nutty and complex beer for the style that almost hits more of a porter than of an amber - very nice throughout and well recommended, especially for the style, but from the brewery in general. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Island Gourmet Markets in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii for US$2,99 on 15-April-2022 sampled a few minutes later while walking here in Hawaii while with my wife and three kids on Spring Break on 15-April-2022.

Poured from a 12 oz can. Aroma is malt forward with quite a bit of cracker malt as well as lighter notes of wheat. Medium light hop notes, mostly pine, grapefruit, resin and citrus. Pours a pale, fairly clear, yellow gold with a large, pillowy white head that slowly recedes into itself leaving a small film that lingers. Medium lacing and faint legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a dry finish. Moderate cracker malt and light wheat notes. High bitterness and medium hop notes of pine, grapefruit pith, resin, citrus and floral notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright pale ale. I like that the malt profile is light, but the hop profile is too light and too focused on the older C hops. Could use more fruitiness.
