Can from a Mexican restaurant in Lihue on Kauai. Pours a clear, bronze color, with a big, foamy, white head. The nose is orange peel, resin, caramel, and spruce. Sweet and malty, with a bright, aggressive bitterness. Medium body, with a sharp, sticky feel. Quality and quite hoppy.

12 oz. can at Kukui's, and consumed from a plastic cup in a lounge chair on Kalapaki Beach. Pours an unclear, orange color, with a medium, frothy, white head. The nose is coconut water, green banana, vanilla, and almonds. Sweet and yeasty, with a light tang. Light body, with a creamy, lightly acidic palate. This is a fun and refreshing beer.

Backlog from 2019. Pours a hazy burnt orange color. It’s sweet with toasty malt and spicy yeast. Coconut? Not really getting that. It’s alright though.

Can from Hawaii: pours lightly hazy gold with a white head. Aroma is a weird coconut notes and banana and spicy. Taste seems to almost have a little bit of booze. Otherwise a moderately sweet and occasionally synthetic coconut taste. Meh.

Poured from a 12 oz can. Aroma is malt forward with cracker, biscuit and light caramel notes. Light toasted bread notes as well. Medium light grapefruit and pine resin hop notes with faint hints of tropical fruit. Pours a fairly clear, copper orange with a medium large, thick, pillowy, slightly off-white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and no legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with moderate notes of cracker and biscuit and lighter notes of caramel and toasted bread. Medium high bitterness. Medium light hop notes of grapefruit and pine resin as well as some light floral and faint tropical fruit notes. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but with more malt and less hops than I would prefer. Clean fermentation and nothing offensive, but this doesn't do it for me.

Kind of an odd beer. I was trying to imagine why anybody would want to make a coconut hefeweizen and I still don't know. The flavors seem all mashed together without any rhyme reason or balance. One and done.
