On tap at the Royal Oak, Ottawa. Clear medium orange amber with a one finger white head that fades quickly to a sheet and leaves some sparse lace. Nose is typical saison yeast and spice with definite orange notes with bergamot leanings. Flavour is lightly sweet with citrus tartness and a light pepper. Mouth is medium with active carbonation and a short tart finish. Interesting twist on a saison.

Dark brown. Not much head. Some odd fruity notes on the aroma, at best going in a blueberry direction but that’s optimistic. Touch of dark malt. I’m not nuts about the aroma but I like it a lot on the palate. Touch of fruit, hit of toast, not much roast, some good dark sugars. I like it - the kind of oatmeal stout you’d drink a lot of.

Growler, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a nice bold roasted malt character upfront, with a little coffee and hearty oats. Flavour is along the same lines, with hearty oats, medium roasted malt, and light coffee. Nicely constructed, with a moderately robust body. Very well-made and enjoyable.

Cloudy, bit fizzy, and with a touch of light brown colour. The aroma has a fairly full bergamot aroma. On the palate, light and a bit fizzy. Not great...not enough orangey character to really make this pop, though there is a bit of marmalade in the finish.

Growler, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of spices, light marmalade, and earth. Flavour is very earthy, with lots of earl grey tea upfront, with a touch of jam further back. Earthy and spicy, and actually pleasant enough. Okay.
