Absolutely clear, crystal-clear coloured body with the faintest tint of white or light pink with a non-existant head that shows all the light passed through from the source. Aroma of honey, wild rice, a touch of grain, but mostly dry, herbal and grassy herbal notes with just pure honey and yeast and absolutely nothing else. Super light-bodied; Strong, very funky and odd flavour of wet feet, funk, grain, light sweetness, yeast, bread and a bit more of the assertive/dry flavours that make the honey work so well in converting sugar to alcohol. Aftertaste shows the dry funk, honey and especially the grassy and sweet side of things more than anything else - but again, there isn't much here. Overall, a pretty subdued and very unassuming drink with only the honey and dry flavours standing out in terms of quality and variance. Sadly, I'd pass up on this one if I saw it, despite wanting to try a 'local' mead. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia on 29-October-2018 for US$3,29 sampled at home in Washington on 25-November-2018.

Bright, ultra clear pink, violet and purple coloured body with no head at all, and not really any movement either. Aroma of pure funk, grass, hay, cat pee and more eggy qualities, but also some fruit, a touch of citrus and the tiniest amount ever of some burnt or 'ripe' notes. Light-bodied; Strong effervescence that feels like a lot of funk and dry flavours at first, that dies down to more of a odd, 'off' flavour. Aftertaste shows too much of the funky and off-centered tastes to make this rate highly on the style or even on any other samples. Overall, a pretty good representation of the style, with some odd fruit-based flavours from the elderberries and what tastes like just pure blackberries. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whole Foods in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 16-November-2018 for US$1.99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 07-November-2018

Super clear and perhaps ever so slightly yellow pee-coloured body with no head at all. Absolutely atrocious aroma that brings up skunk, poison, refuse, trash, astringency and perhaps the slightest bit of pumpkins around - pretty bad. Light to Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence towards the end. Super strong and incredibly pungent bitterness with a lot of pumpkins and spices and very little else - especially body and depth. Aftertaste shows the pungency and grain of the pumpkin with a little spice and earth and a good deal of bitterness and especially funk throughout with nothing too pleasant, aside from perhaps from sugars. Overall, a pungent and super deep bitterness from the alcohol and warmth with a lot of spices, grain and actually noticeable pumpkins wiht not much else.
