Description
Arches Brewing is a craft brewery located in the arts district of Hapeville, GA. Our focus is bringing old-world beer styles to Atlanta by combining American craft and traditional brewing techniques. Our brewmaster, a biochemist, crafted his first batch of beer over ten years ago with the idea that beer could be made better through chemistry. Coupled with meticulous attention to detail and quality standards, we've developed over 38 distinct recipes across nearly all BJCP styles.
We offer three year-round styles, seasonal lagers, and several limited-release beers throughout the year available only at the brewery. We look forward to seeing you at the brewery!

Slightly hazy copper and bronze coloured body with a clearish, bright bronze and orange tint with a thinnish, single to perhaps two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of grass, light curacao and full oranges with a touch of cleanser, bright yeast, a little candy sugar sweetness and a touch of banana. Medium-bodied; Assertive nutty and peanutty taste with some yeast qualities, a touch of astringent and assertive flavours with more of a biscuity, grainy and pungent flavour without much support, complexity, depth or smooth flavours. Aftertaste shows some biscuits, a lot of grainy malts, a dose of toffee and lightly caramelised sugars with some spiced pear flavours along with a touch of coffee bitterness noticeable on the edges with some complex toffee and grain flavours at the very end. Overall, an interesting and malt-centric, yeastie beer with a lot of nutty and more astringent qualities that make this interesting, if not the best beer for the style or season, but nice to try for sure. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Mac's Beer & Wine in Atlanta, Georgia on 26-May-2018 for US$1,98 in Midtown Atlanta sampled at home in Washington on 30-July-2018.

Sampled on draft at the Brookhaven Beer Growler. Pours a slightly hazy yellow color, with a big, frothy, off-white head. Hay, bubblegum, lemon juice, and light dust. Sweet, with a bit of citrusy sour flavor and no bitterness. Light body, with a chewy, lightly acidic feel. Solid, but a little unbalanced.

On tap at the Brick Store Pub. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a big, dense, tan head. The aroma is brown sugar, red wine, dates, molasses, and light coffee. Sweet, with a light, vineous tartness. Heavy body, with a sticky, syrupy mouthfeel. This is a tasty and complex beer. Nice.

Nice porter, unexpectedly dry despite the lactose sugar, big and roasty with a solid chocolate-covered raisin backbone and a firm, espresso-leaning bitter finish. A little thin in feel, but the nose is sweet chocolate and the pour’s a suitable brown-black with a nice head. Good rainy day pint.
