Went in fully prepared to hate this pint, but damned if it isn't a winning combination of fruit, hop, and vanilla. Sweet without being cloy, with a noticeable but subdued bitterness and plenty of tropical hop notes to mesh nicely with the mango backbone. Vanilla is present without taking over the pint. Balanced, a trait often missing from milkshake IPAs. Nice.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy gold with a finger of white foam that lingers. Creamy mango lassi nose with orange and citrus aromas. Mango lassi on the palate as well. Scratchy mouthfeel, dreamsicle notes. Sweet finish with more mango and lactose. Nailed it, but I'm getting tired of this style of beer.

Fairly interesting brew, a nice mix of English and American takes on the style backed by a formidible bourbon barrel finish. Comes close to swinging too heavily into its cocoa center, but the dry bitterness on the back end helps temper the sweet leanings. Not quite as layered as it needs to be to fully benefit from the barrel, but a notable pint nonetheless.

Surprisingly good brett IPA, striking a nice balance between hops and horseblanket. Apricot, mango, and grapefruit present a juicy, sweet-natured hop front, while the finish grows piney and Belgian, with the tiniest bit of citric tartness rounded off by a healthy dose of funk. Fades spicy and clean. Pours a lovely gold with a thick white head and ample lacing. Nose is a bit of a letdown--no funk, no hops--but the light, boisterous feel and creamy texture make up for the aroma. Tasty pint.

Very dull West Coast IPA, more focused on caramel and toasty malts than presenting much of a hop presence. Mild orange and lemon notes lead to a modest, clingy bitterness on the fade, but buttered caramel steals the show, with a wet grain undertone and a slight metallic bite. Pours a pretty gold with a lasting white head and good lacing. Nose offers caramel, butter, and pine. Creamy feel's nice, but does nothing for the overall malt-heavy presentation. Pass.

Good NEIPA, if a bit standard, with enormous amounts of melon, stone fruit, and citrus juiciness offset by a moderate base of cracker malts. Slightest bit of sweetness accentuates the hop juice, while the finish has pretty much no bitterness whatsoever, kind of a letdown even if the description promises as much. (Call me an old fogey, but an IPA needs an angry back end.) Pours a hazed gold with a brief white head and moderate lacing. Doesn't quite reach the pillowy feel the style demands, but comes close. Not a bad pint.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a hazy gold with 2 fingers of foam that lingers. Citrus forward nose w/ lemon and sweet tarts, pineapple and tangerine. Balanced, light bodied. Crushable. Low bitterness with some more sweet tart notes on the finish. Clean and well-executed.

Can sample at a tasting at troubles' place. Thanks troubles. Hazy golden, white head. Citric hops aroma, slightly stale. Sweetish flavor with malt, a bit of caramel, and a bitter hops finish, slightly stale. Medium-bodied.

Can from Craft Brewed. Pours an orangish gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Grainy nose, light citrus, caramel. Clean and crisp, caramel sweetness. Citrus , overripe orange, some bubblegum. Too much caramel to really be a true west coast IPA. Was left wanting more bitterness and less sweetness.
