Bottle shared with Nick at the Euston Tap, London. Pours thick black like oily tar with a creamy, brown head. Burnt cocoa aroma with lots of dark roast, some oak and whiskey. Big sweet flavor but not cloying at all, lots of dirt, tar, dark roast, espresso, dark chocolate, bitter burnt grass. Full bodied, chewy with fine carbonation. Mild warming finish with lots of dark chocolate, bitter baking cocoa, heavy roast, light peat, burnt earth. Really just an immensely good, highly quaffable beer. Superb.

Bottle from Corks, Bristol. Deep gold, with a slight hop haze, slick of a white head, and touch of carbonation. Flora hop arms with sweet, apricot and tangerine fruit. Flavour had biscuity malts, planet more fruit and gently dry finish. An excellent beer.

Bottle shared at Beer Temple. Dark brown unclear pour with a tiny tan head. Aroma dominate by grassy hops and nettles. Flavour as a foreground caramel sweetness and light malt, with massive grass coming through in the background bitterness. Medium bodies and low carbonation. Intense beer!

Craft. Very light haze on this gold beer. Tidy white head. Light dry palate. Dry pale malt quickly gives way to decent hops. Juicy orange with traces of grapefruit and lemon. Mild floral notes. Semi dry finish. Another decent beer from Buxton.

Craft. Clear amber beer, tidy white head. Light dry palate. Low carbonation. Nice blood orange marmalade hops. Not much else going on but what there is is good. Neutral finish.

Craft. Light haze on this gold beer, tiny white head. Light dry palate. Nice hops - sweet tropical fruits. Mango, orange and pine. Bitterness builds up. Finishes juicy orange and pine and semi dry. A very well joined up IPA - nice one.

Take 2 Cask @ York Tap, 270412
Even better on cask - A fantastic beer.
Bottle from Tomlinsons Beer Shop, Inverness 180412 8/4/9/4/17
Very dark ruby brown, tan frothy head, good lacing
Aroma - Citrus resinous hops, juicy quite sweet citrus fruits, soft grapefruit, gentle very soft dark roast malt in the background
Taste - Citrus hops, resinous hops, soft grapefruit, citrus fruits, hops are not astringent here, no grass, very soft dark deep roasted malts. Very well blended, great flavour, alcohol very well hidden, great balance.
Palate - soft carb, medium body, citrus tangy palate. Finish as main flavour with a citrus bitter tangy linger.
Overall - A superb BIPA - dangerously drinkable for the abv - the balance between hoppy IPA and โstoutyโ roasted dark malts is just right. No roughness or astringency. What an exquisite beer!

Bottle, Beer Ritz, Leeds. Very murky reddy brown pour with a dissipating yet ultimately lingering tan head. Nose had plenty of fruity hop alongside notes of sweet malt and vanilla. Fullish mouthfeel and relatively gentle carbonation. Flavour had some great fruitiness alongside sweet malts, a little spice and some well placed hop bitterness. Satisfyingly lingering bitter finish. Thereโs a solid vein of quality running throughout this brew, as indeed there is in most of the output eminating from the ever-improving Buxton stable. Nice one fellas. My 1500th Rate. Cheers !
