We went to Anthem this past Saturday with family to enjoy a fine spring day. I was able to get a generous 16 oz tap pour of In Your Eyes in a house glass. It showed a black as midnight color with a bare rim of gold-tan, very fine bubbles. I smelled cocoa, scorched grain and chocolate. Redundant, I know, but there it is. Then I had a taste. Mighty good. Booze, dark chocolate, black cherries, malt, pecans and earth. A fine imperial stout, best I've had in some time.

16 oz pour at the brewery on a breezy spring Saturday afternoon. The view is a semi-transparent yellow-gold body and a spare, solid white skim of foam. I smell a bit of peach, yeast and grain. And the drink is nice in the style. Spice is obvious, apricots, bread, straw and field. Enjoyable brew shared with the family in OKC.

Pretty clear, but slightly hazy golden and light orange coloured body with a nice, subdued two centimetre tall just off-white head. Aroma of strong tangerines and oranges with some grapefruit in the mix here and a good amount of sugars and lactose to contend with. Light to Medium-bodied; Pretty sweet fruity and citrusey flavours dominate with some light mangoes and marshmallows here, but the majority of the flavours and sweetness to derive from this one are the oranges and citrus fruit with a light dose of hops on the end. Aftertaste shows some light tart and soured components, but this really is just fruity and sweet with a pretty rich profile from the wheatie and oaty malts which are strong here, especially for the style. Overall, a pretty nice and very fruity beer with a big orange and tangeriney profile, but the sugars and malt notes are stronger here, making this not so easy-drinking, but perhaps more flavourful and definitely richer throughout. Nice to have as my second beer in a month and tempered the IPA I drank before this! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Freeman's Liqours in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 11-January-2023 for US$2,59 sampled at my house here in Washington on 30-March-2023.

Pretty hazy and opaque golden and peach coloured body with absolutely no head at all - there is nothing that fades, it simply isn't there. Aroma of canned corn, some fresh coriander seed, a light dose of full oranges, a hint of caster sugar and a light floral and grassy finish in the nose, with some deeper sugars as well. Medium-bodied; Pretty strong wheat and malt notes with a lot of pungency from the yeast and belgie notes with a light hint of full oranges at the end with a good deal of sugars as well. Aftertaste shows some of the canned corn notes, but much more of the full oranges and especially the yeast notes, but not much else - pretty easy-drinking from the wheat perspective with only some sugars and nothing too pungent throughout. Overall, a nice and robust beer that hits the clean and easy-drinking aspects of the style while showing some nice sugars and wheatie elements throughout. A nice beer for the style and probably great here in the summertime! I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased yesterday from Freeman's Liqour Shop in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 11-January-2023 for US$1,95 sampled in my hotel room here in downtown Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on 12-January-2023.

Very hazy, deep and strong rich orange and copper coloured body with a thin layer of an off-white head on top of the 90 per cent opaque body. Aroma of nice hop notes with a lot of stone and citrus fruits along with some supportive malt and seemingly a good level of sugars in the nose. Medium-bodied; Assertive stone fruit, apricot and peach flavours show at first with a nice level of grapefruit and of course orange flavours, but the hops show through as well and provide some good bitterness from alpha acids, and the malt is very easy-drinking wheatie notes that provide a good balance to the fruity flavours. Aftertaste shows some light dry notes, but the citrus and stone fruit notes are the strongest, as are the hop bitterness that comes through, with the malts being fairly mild, in a good way, letting the hops shine. Overall, a very nice New England IPA that has a great fruit characteristic and a mild malt backbone that makes this pretty easy drinking, with still a ton of flavours. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Trader Joe's in Oklahoma City (Nichols Hills), Oklahoma on 09-January-2023 for US$2,09 sampled a day later here in [downtown] Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in my hotel room here on 10-January-2023.
