Can, overall, probably more like a golden ale but how can a gentlemanly golden ale be 9+%? Nice cloudy Belgian presentation when popped & poured. Smell is a little phenolic. Nice visivle co2, lively. Taste is quite well mannered for dubble er trippel. There is an initial shock of mild tartness under a peppery backbone. The alky content wants this to be a strong Belgian ale but this brew hides it down to the point that you think yer drinken a civilized Belgian around 6, heheh. I think I like this, better than average and right up thar with East End #09 - Grisette Wooden Shoe Tippecanoe Canal Jumper, 4 Brothers Heaven’s Gate, Green Flash Rayon Vert, Leute Bokbier, Ommegang Game of Thrones #1 - Iron, or Grimbergen Blonde. For room temperature, this stuff came across rather entertaining, and possibly has some of the desirable attributes of #1 orval.

Bottle. Cloudy straw color, massive white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of lightly spiced brown bread. Taste is very bitter and has plenty of spice.

12 oz. can into a tulip ABV actually 5.2% Canned 03/17/15 so 3 weeks old A: Accidentally hard pour yields a thick, dense crackling head atop a medium pale yellow body. Good retention and fair amount of spotty lacing. Despite the light color, this beer is anything but clear. I have no problem with unfiltered beers but lots of sediment here floating immovably. Scary shit. S: Very light aroma of wheaty pale malts. Very faint grassy hops. T: Unexpectedly a sharp hop bite greets on 1st sip. Sourdough and crackers round out the light flavor. A tart note is hard to pin down but agreeable. M: Quite light as expected with crisp carbonation on the tongue. Very refreshing. O: Reminds me of Olde Hickory Piedmont which I like a lot. Not quite as good. Not nearly as expensive either. Overall, a good pilsner to knock back a few of on a hot day. At $7.50/6 @ Total Wine, I can see buying this again. I feel obligated to try at least once again.
