Description
The people behind Pale Fire Brewing Co. love the moment creativity is sparked and the fact that there is generally a great beer close by. The big idea, scribbled first on a bar napkin. Friends noodling around guitars, who suddenly realize they’ve hit on something great. Stories, told around a campfire, when nobody has a clue what time it is. Great beer is there.
In 2013, a space in a renovated Ice House in downtown Harrisonburg became available. It was perfect; the wheels were in motion. Pale Fire Brewing Co. opened in April 2015.
Pale Fire beer is currently distributed in Virginia by Virginia Eagle in Harrisonburg, Blacksburg, Lynchburg, Charlottesville, Winchester and Northern Virginia; and also by Specialty Beverage in Richmond, Roanoke, and Tidewater. You can also find Pale Fire beer in Washington, D.C. and Maryland, distributed by Legends Limited. Our beer is available in 1/6 barrel and 1/2 barrel kegs, 12oz bottles, and small runs of 16oz cans.
Visit our Tap Room, which is open daily at 1pm.

Super hazy peach and copper coloured body with a bronze glow and a super thick, frothy, seven centimetre tall tan head - very nice looking throughout. Aroma of fresh grassy and herbal hops with some resinous and lightly piney hop elements as well, some moderate sweetness and a nice biscuity malt. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and very perfumey hop bite at first that shows some fresh pepper and a dose of more bitter endives and rocket/arugula herbal qualities, also showing some mellow sweetness and a hint of honey in the middle. Aftertaste is dry, but on the very fresh side of the hops with the grass, pine and pepper all showing through and leaving a very and quite pungent kick near the end, but without any perceived alcohol, nor malt nor cloying qualities - very nice and light all around, but absolutely full of flavour. Overall, a very nice APA that is perhaps one of the best I've had in a long while. Sort of like a Light IPA, but this one shows more malt, a lot stronger bite and a more robust profile in all corners. Definitely worth trying if you like hops, well-executed beer styles or a beer that is slightly on the light-side, but heavy on flavours. I sampled this pint-sized, sixteen ounce can purchased from Total Wine in Fairfax, Virginia on 10-September-2017 for US$3,49 sampled at home in Washington on 24-September-2017, just two weeks later.

Draft pour, pint, at Smoke & Barrel, DC. Poured a mostly clear yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was nice citrus notes - grapefruit, but not super bitter. Some juicy melon, pine resin. This was reatlly solid. Nice and juicy. Creamy. Great pale ale.
