One quart growler purchased from Whole Foods in West Des Moines - pours a burnt orange - creamy, fairly thick head - fairly sweet nose of caramelized sugars, honey, floral hops, some munich malt richness -creamy texture, low carbonation - rich, smooth maltiness up front - sweetness is a bit much, but a balancing bitterness ardives late - there is a surprising amount of alcohol heat, which makes me wonder if it’s higher tham 6%- finish of lightly spicy hops - there is a touch of huskiness, but mostly a fairly enjoyable maibock, albeit a bit sweet at times.
