Description
Born in the headwaters of Bench Creek in Yellowhead County, Alberta, this brewery was built by family and friends smack dab in the middle of Alberta’s backyard. We are immersed in the untamed majesty and the harsh realities of the wild that make this province special.

That’s why we push our techniques and recipes constantly – why we experiment as if our lives depend on it. Our goal is to balance premium ingredients perfectly in every glass, growler, can, cask, or keg we fill. Only then do we rest knowing these distinctive beers will be worth discovering over and over again.

With all that in mind, we invite you to try our beers wherever you find them to get a taste of our unique approach. If you’re a more adventurous sort, come by the brewery in Yellowhead County to see the place and the process for yourself.

473mL can, pours a hazy dark amber with a medium beige head. Nose is classic west coast, with lots of resinous hops, a fair bit of pine, and chewy caramel malt. Flavour is on the malty side, but reveals a really nice resinous hops character, a little pine, and caramel malt. It's a touch maltier than optimal for me, but there isn't much residual sweetness. Really nicely made.

473ml can. Pours a slightly hazy dark red-amber with a small, fizzy, short lived, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, oak, whiskey, red wine and light peat. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, red wine, dark fruit, brown sugar and oak in a peaty whiskey finish that burns. Full body with a thin texture and average carbonation. Hold on to your hats folks, this is a big boy beer that will blow your hair back! Pretty smooth for the elevated ABV, but a little thin for the style.
