Keg draught at the Real Ale Classroom, Stoneygate, Leicester. Light gold and clear with an uneven white head. Some citrus, boiled sweet, melon rind, apples and sweet cooking spices in the aroma. Bittersweet taste, some light tropical fruit, turning more bitter near the finish. Body's a bit watery but no surprise given the ABV. Carbonation on the heavy side. Good.

440ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull. Poured a mostly clear dark brown colour with a frothy tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, light cherry. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, dry, herbal, light amaretto, tart cherry palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. Nice enough, but cherry stouts are not my favourite.

A nice enough beer, but you might expect something strong, dark & distinctive from the name. It isn't any of those

Can ordered from the brewery aroma has dark chocolate, soon followed by light sour Cherry and coffee. Dark. Stygian. Thick microbubbled foamy beige head. Tangy cherry and coffee berries. Develops malty chocolate and almonds. A sweet sugariness throughout. Light-medium bodied. Slick verging on creamy. Long somewhat astringent finish. Somewhere between a chocolate and cherry tart, with Liquor and medicine (enjoyable medicine).

Forth beer on a Wednesday afternoon pub crawl around Shrewsbury with myself, 7th February 2024. 440ml can in Chez Sophie. Clear teak coloured body, off-white crown, liked the look of it. Spiced toffee apple with a Rye like undertone, earthy, semi-sweet and most enjoyable.

440ml can, Chez Sophie. Hazed yellow appearance, white head. Aroma of sweet stonefruit citrus mirroring the flavour profile, sense a little sabro in there which was unexpected but welcome. Perhaps that's the juniper berry influence? Balanced, seshy haze, nicely presented.
