On tap at Happy Gnome. Pours pitch black with a creamy brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of very dry dark grains with bitter dark grains, toffee and some musty coffee. Flavor has musty coffee and dry roasted malts supported by dark grains and a touch of toffee.

Tap at Insight. Dark, clear color. It looks like a rauchbier but it is an ale. The hops are strong, some soap quality, mild amoke in the aroma.

Bottle shared by Jeff, thanks! Pours near black with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of barrel with a bit of soy sauce and a good amount of dark grains. Flavor has a good amount of sweet dark grains and bourbon with a bit of vanilla underlying.

Pours a clear, golden yellow, with middling head. Aroma is very grassy. Flavor also very grassy. Not much by way of hop bitterness or citrus for that matter (given the beer’s name, I’d have expected more). Not a good IPA.

Sampled from the tap at Winterfest 2015. Pours a dark amber brown with a bubbly chocolate brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of chocolate with deep dark grains, a touch of oak and bread underlying. Flavor has lots of chocolate as well with dark grains, roasted malts and a bit of oak.

Cask at the brewery. Pours a murky light red with an off white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of tart cherries with a hint of Belgian yeast and light grains. Flavor is full of pie cherries with a light tartness and some sweet grains underlying.

Sampled from the tap. Pours a deep burgundy brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has a combination of roasted malts and coffee with a dark grain backbone. Flavor has more roasted malts and dark grains with a bit of bitter coffee underlying.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has notes of grapefruit and sweet onion with a hint of resin and light grains. Flavor has a decent amount of onion with some grapefruit and resin as well as a bread backbone.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clearr golden copper with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has notes of bread and grain with a bit of light citrus underlying. Flavor is similar with lots of bread and grain, wish the citrus came through more.
