Description
Old Bust Head Brewing Company is an independent, solar-powered microbrewery in Fauquier County, VA west of DC. Our experience brewing traditional ales & lagers has helped us win awards in styles classic and creative. With beautiful views of slate roofed barns and refurbished campus-like brick buildings, Old Bust Head is part of a unique farm called ‘Vint Hill’ that for 50 years operated as a top secret military listening post. Familiar faces behind the bar share their love of craft in our 1950’s post & beam taproom while covered outdoor seating between our taproom and production area provides a welcoming environment for leashed dogs and all-weather access to a rotating variety of food trucks.

Pounder: Briney lime nose. Cloudy amber, thin head. Tangy orange and lime. Malt and cheerios finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation. A touch too sweet for the style, but beery. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle from Harris Teeter @ Barracks Road. Pours amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is light apple, light caramel, honey. Flavor is heavily relying on the sweet honey, grains, caramel, a little woody, toffee - actually, perhaps an icecream-ish flavor. It’s actually pretty tasty.

$4.00 pint can from Wine Warehouse. Pours deep pink with a light pink head. Aroma is raspberries, strawberry, a little funk, sugar. Flavor is strawberry, raspberry, a little funk, lemonade, cracker, light cardboard. Sweetly tart right up front, but this sweetness doesn’t last. The tartness does a bit, but it’s not tremendous. Remove the cardboard and this thing would be better.
