7.5/10 Appearance 6 Aroma 8 Flavor 8 Texture 6 Overall 8
Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/8/14, Rating #3535

Aroma: The nose is on-style, plenty of tropical and citrus fruit, and some pine/resin
Appearance: It pours a mostly clear golden-orange color with a decent sized head
Flavor: The flavor is lightly sweet, nice and juicy, with a nice, medium-plus hop bitterness to it
Palate: The body is medium, with a solid drinkability, and a clean, dry finish
Overall Impression: I liked this one. This is a nice, enjoyable, well-made IPA. I think it is fair to say that if this is a brewery's first beer (as the description above indicates) they are on their way to good things.

6.6/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 6 Flavor 7 Texture 6 Overall 6.5
Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/8/14

Aroma: The aroma is pale malts, biscuit/bready, and some light pine and grapefruit notes
Appearance: It pours a clear golden color with a small off-white head and a little lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same, fairly malty, with a light sweetness and a light bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, and it has a clean, but a hint dull feel on the mouth
Overall Impression: I thought this was a decent, drinkable beer that just lacks something for me. It was probably my least favorite thing I tried from Huss, but the rest of the beers were very nice, so that isn't a major critique. Still, this is a solid beer.

8/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 8 Texture 8 Overall 8
Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/8/14

Aroma: The aroma is sweet and spice, lots of cinnamon, vanilla, hits the rice pudding goal
Appearance: The pour is a darker brown color with a nice lighter brown colored head
Flavor: The flavor is full of the sweetness and spice flavor that you'd expect from the aroma
Palate: The body is medium, it drinks smoothly and has a slightly sticky finish
Overall Impression: What can I say? I thought this beer totally worked. Sometimes I am a sucker for a good gimmick beer, and this was one of those times. Nicely done!

7.9/10 Appearance 8 Aroma 8 Flavor 8 Texture 8 Overall 7.5
Location: Draft at the Brewpub, 3/8/14

Aroma: It has a tropical/citrus fruit hop aroma, some pine/resin, and some malty notes as well
Appearance: It pours a clear golden-orange color with a decent sized white head
Flavor: The taste is much the same, clean and hoppy with a little fruity sweetness as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has a clean mouthfeel, soft carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a really enjoyable APA. I like that they named the beer for a team that's only around for a few weeks. I hope all the Cubs fans in town for spring training enjoyed this one.

Growler from Huss pours with a dark mahogany colored body that has a tall firm light mocha foam head that wiggles and jiggles when you walk with it. The aroma offers up malt sweetened dark roasted malts mixed with earthy chocolate. The taste delivers a pleasing balance between dark roasted malts, a nice peanut butter sensation and malt sweetness. To midway the chocolate moves forward and heads into some burnt malts. This works really well and there’s some tasty malt and dark roasted malt modified peanut butter lingering well into the after taste.

Growler pours with a perfectly clear copper body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up . . . well, I couldn’t wait and took a hurried swig of this first . . . oh yeah. That works. YUM. Ok the aroma is very inviting where there’s a mix of citrus, mango and spicy dank earthy onion like hoppiness. Just what I like. The taste too. Yes. It’s juicy, rich, clean and snappy with grapefruit, tangelo, a bit of mango and then some nice yet modest levels of dank spicy onion hoppy goodness. Love it. All of these flavors are right in my wheel house.

2016. This is good but for some reason not "amazing" like the first batch. It doesn’t even seem like the same beer. Score adjusted from 4.3 to 3.9.

The growler pours up with a nice looking dark body that supports a light mocha colored head of foam. The aroma is inviting with dark roasted malts, chocolate brownie, some dark roasted coffee notes, faint earthy wet tobacco leafs and then a light maltiness in the background. Smells of yum. The taste is nice and rich with dark roasted malts, chocolate brownie goodness and a dash of burnt malts. The dark roastiness picks up a little rich dark roasted coffee sense every now and then. The mouth feel is booth smooth and supple. Nice rich roasty brew. I like it.

A clear brown porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet caramel malt with cinnamon and cloves, rice pudding, light chocolate, nice. In mouth, a sweet fruity caramel malt with cinnamon, chalky notes, OK.
