Description
Oxbow is a small farmhouse brewery located in rural Newcastle, Maine. The brewery is nestled in an enchanted forest amongst rolling farmlands and winding tidal rivers, of which the ebb and flow provide a constant reminder that the coast is near.
The name Oxbow is inspired by the bends in these rivers, the Dyer in particular, which features stunning horseshoe-shaped oxbows where the river covers tremendous ground to travel what could otherwise be a very short linear distance. We employ a similar approach when crafting our beers, taking months or years to create a beverage that is commonly produced in a matter of days.

Tap at Birreria Paradiso Georgetown. Unfiltered red-brown-orange. Soapy off-white/beige head. Doughy, almost Bierre de Garde body. Nice floral, peppery yeast and hop balance. Medium body, quite easy and mellow on the palate. Earthy, faint mild nutty caramel. Quite well balanced.

The appearance had just a film of a white head with the nornal pale orange hazy body. Ever so slight bubbles surfacing in strings. Some beautiful nice ringy lacing graces the chalice. The smell had the Belgian yeast up front with some light floral/earthiness in the background. The taste was the same with an added bready/graininess. The palate was light to medium, normal Belgian harshness on the tongue expected but still trying to get used to with this style. Overall, this is good for the style and good for me.
