Small tulip at the brewery. Opaque red-brown beer, thin foam creeping up for some lace. Malt, slightly sugary nose. Taste throws the amber beer malt right at you, carried on a bed of alcohol, luckily served cold. Some bite from leftover yeast that gets in the way, but doesn't detract overall from the big beer.

Can. Pours hazy amber with a 3-finger cola head. Toasted malt, caramel, nutty, finish a bit sweet.

The aromas are toffee malt and slightly old resin hops. Flavors are a touch sweet up front with lots of bitter towards the end. Add in some medicinal. Carbonation is a bit soft with decent body. Long bitter malty finish. Date stamped September of 22 but I can't tell if it's canned on or best by.

10 oz draft at Firetrucker. The usual dark stout with a thin ring of foam around the edge. The nose has some sweet chocolate fudge to it, pretty mild otherwise. But maybe draining the glass a bit might reveal more (yes, when it's half empty, it is more of a fudge note). Taste does have some of the velvet smoothness of an oatmeal stout. There is a slightly tart edge, and I think that comes more from the chocolate infusion than the stout malt. But in sum, the chocolate is not overwhelming, just a welcome presence. Kind of sweet, but again there's a little bitterness from chocolate and maybe some hops to keep a balance. I can easily see this being amped up in abv and going into a bourbon barrel. Maybe some day that will happen.

Draft, at Firetrucker, with a taco truck taco. Brassy color, with a little Haze in the glass. The nose has nothing but the traditional IPA resin smell, and there's nothing wrong with that. Taste is a precise balance of malt sweetness and happiness, with some hop afterburn. This seems to hue very strongly toward an avatar of the traditional IPA style. In a a brewing World filled with tropical fruit, cold and sour IPAs, this is very welcome.

The Aromas are resin hops, mango, bug spray and a little caramel. Flavors are Like nose and not-so-good. There's an unbalanced Bittersweet where nothing works with anything else. Some heat in the Finish. Drain pour.

16oz can. Seltzer alco-pop type creature. Ginger and lime are there, but nothing else going on. Thin, pale, dirty water body. No head. Quite unimpressive.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a small foamy tan head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was faint roasty malt and coffee. The flavor was a bit watery, toasty and had coffee and a bit of sweetness at the finish.

From my wife: pours mostly clear brown with a large beige head. Aroma is nutty and fairly malty. Taste is fairly nutty, light sweetness, low bitterness. Standard brown Ale aftertaste. Not bad. Fairly light body.
