Poured dark amber and the aroma wafted malts. This is a sweet beer, but not overbearing, with a touch of sourness. Medium body and smooth drinking.

Red/brown color. Thick head that lasts forever. Typical franziskaner taste but to be honest I expected more complexity.

Pour a cloudy orange/amber with a big white head. Aroma of yeast and malt with hints of citrus and bananas. A little spicy taste with hints of cirtus and a malty taste. Smooth aftertaste with some bitterness.

Rerate. Sampled on draft at Olde New York in State College PA this beer poured a dark ruby-chestnut color with a large dark tan head. The aroma was sweet, malty and had notes of molasses and ripe fruits. The flavor was sweet, tangy and very malty with ripe fruits and a tough of caramel. The mouthfeel was thick. Nice.

Ths is fairly good. Flavor is full of malt, some lightly bitter hops. Sampled from a mini keg. Aroma is simple with some hops. The beer is gold, with a small head.

(bottle) Golden colour with a big frothy white head. My first impression after having filled my glass was a stench of pure urine but fortunately it turned into a smell of sweet malts, cookies and some grassy hops. Moderate sweet flavour, medium body. Malty taste with hints of honey and a smooth but bland hoppy finish with a slight bitterness.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy amber with the kind of head that simply refuses to die. Soft, malty character and a yeasty fruitiness. Classical Bavarian Hefe-weizen and a fine example of the style. 141099

(Bottle 50 cl) Muddy brownish - like water from the Rhine.... Well, not completely unappetizing. Soft, with the wheat-esters not that pronounced. A bit shy for a Hefe-dunkel - turn up the flavours please. 100699

(Bottle 50 cl) Comes as: "Franziskaner Weissbier Kristallklar". Beautiful yellowish golden, low head. Lots of fruity esters - Spaten has pretty much maintained them in the brew in spite of the filtration. Less dry than other Kristalls. 080699
