500ml bottle at Ship & Mitre, Liverpool. I was a bit disappointed with this. Not a huge aroma, some roasted malts, choc/coffee, and a bit of toffee, but over carbonated in mouth and the finish was thin on flavour.

Pours deep, hazy bold with creamy head that quickly dissipates. Very subtle nose in my sample. Very lively. Abrupt finish.

Cloudy pale amber beer with lots of carbonation and sediment in the bottle. Thick white head which lighty laced the glass as it slowly went down. Aroma of bananna and yeast. The banana taste comes through very lightly.

Deep transparent chocolate color with a thick tan head. A hint of molasses in the odor Thick lacing on the glass as the head recedes.Carmely tastes of brown sugar.

bottle - Nice. Big malty character as one might expect from this style. The finish betrays some hops, which gives a good balance. I heartily approve and would be glad to raise a toast to the autumn with this very drinkable brew.

Das Bier wird den Anforderungen gerecht. von leichter Fruchtigkeit über ein hefiges Aroma bis zu einem leicht herben Abgang ein Referenzweizen. Süffig, vollmundig, gut. Test vom 30.12.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,12,13,10,10,11 - 11,05

Recht mild ist auch dieses Franziskaner-Bier, soll aber keinesfalls heißen, es sei schlecht. Leicht fruchtig ist das Bier im Antrunk und Mittelteil, und ziemlich hopfig. Im Mittelteil recht würzig, das Bier wirkt recht vollmundig. Im Nachgeschmack kommen dann die typischen Aromen eines Dunklen hervor, wenn auch nicht sehr ausgeprägt. So lässt sich hinter der mittleren Fruchtigkeit auch eindeutig ein Malzton bestimmen. Test vom 30.12.2005, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 13,12,14,13,10,12 - 12,45

Süßlich hefig im Antrunk, im Mittelteil dagegen klar herb, leicht malziger Unterton. Der Nachgeschmack ist süßlich hopfig und dauert länger an. Das Bier ist mild, dennoch können sich die Aromen gut entfalten, nicht zu vergleichen mit der milde eines Gold-Bieres....eigentlich recht gut gelungen. 12oz bottle-pours a foamy off white head, nice appearance: copper color. Aroma is malty, backed up by a bit of hops. Good flavor and balanced, nice sweetness.

(bottle) Clear and pale golden colour with a big lacy foamy white head. Dusty and yeasty sweet wheat-malty aroma with strong notes of banana, slightly clovy. Sweet wheat-malty and banana-fruity taste, cripy mouthfeel, moderate body, dense clovy notes in the slim finish. All in all a nice Kristallweizen.
