Pale yellow pour in the glass. Nose and taste is unremarkable malts and light bread. Rated 7/10/2000

Pours golden amber in glass. Nose is sweet, almost like a Belgian ale. Taste is pretty bad stale malts, cereals and honey residue. Rated 7/10/2000

bottle - Apparently Indiana distributors were thinking, what we need in this market is another bland pale lager. Enter Lionshead and Lionshead Light. It pours clear yellow with a small white head and smells of grainy malt. The flavor is sweet, light, and grainy. It’s drinkable and not terribly watery like the light version of this beer is. I’d call it better than most of the macro pale lagers, but that’s saying very little.

Bottle. Pours black, looks pretty thick - thicker than I had expected. Leaves a modest, beige head. Some coffee and chocolate in the nose. Flavor has some nice caramel sweetness, then gives way to notes of chocolate, burnt malts and tobacco in the finish. Medium bodied, tingly carbonation. Pretty decent.

I had high hopes for this one, but it let me down a bit. Black pour. Very slim hint of caramel on nose and palate. Pretty much your standard porter. Rated 3/22/03

Bottle. Pours a light amber with a soft, fluffy white head. Slight haze. Aroma is light, caramel matls. Flavor is lightly sweet, some more caramel, decent bread, mild metallic. Basically non bitterness, but since the beer is light anyway, it’s almost like there is no imbalance. Medium body with good carbonation. Pretty light but not offensive.

bottle - Pours clear yellow with a one finger white head. It smells of grainy malt. It tastes of grainy, adjunct laden malt with a foul aftertaste. It’s weak and watery, another cheaply made, low quality beer. What’s the point?

tap at JK O’Donnells - The pub replaced their Warbird Mustang Gold (out of business) with this beer. It’s another pale lager and is about what I expected. It’s light and boring, but at least manages to not be as weak and watery as many examples of the style. Palatable, but it’s not one I’ll buy again.

Location: 12 oz bottle shared by a friend, 1/15/10

Aroma: Corn, cereal, lemon, and honey
Appearance: Clear straw color, white head
Flavor: Sweet corn and bready malts flavor
Palate: Thin and watery, light, dullish
Overall Impression: Just a drop better then some of the really bad macro lagers, but still not good.

Had this again one year later as winter warmer, bought it cause name was not saem. This time same flavors but clear and filtered dark brown, no gunk on bottom OLD: Looks like cloudy iced tea. Has gunk on the bottom of the bottle. Sweet malt smell. Strong and spicey somewhat weizenbock feel. Comes across mettalic at times. More personality than this lager lover cares for. Seems to be quite alky in the taste. Spice spice. Long bitter but not in a hoppy way. Lingering finish. Typical micro brew feel from a big brewer. Oh yes, quite strong from steggy baby.
