On tap at their newer, less personal, bomb shelter hidaway in downtown Asheville. About two blocks from Wicked Weed. Short pour. Clear, pale gold, generic looking. Smell is oily, fruity spicy. Like hot sauce that already hit food. Taste is habenero like fruity hot sauce. All I taste is hotsauce & tamales. Can't taste apples, can't tell you much about them. Thin, lingering, warm but not terrible heat. Not sure if it's good cider. Feels like I just drank a half bottle of hot sauce. Oily. So hungry.

On tap at Hitler's stone mountain retreat in the Alps of downtown Asheville. Short pour. Clear violet brown. Smells delightful. Cardomom, blueberry candy, apple acidity. Taste is epically fresh blueberry juice, blueberry lemon candy, acidic apples, & building heat. Thin. On the flatter side. Don't get the vanilla. Don't need it. A mockery of a cider. Really really good.

On tap in the large, dim, gray ww2 bunker they took over to be their new downtown location. Short pour. Paler clear gold then the rest. Smoked green pepper scent. Soft green pepper taste, acidic apples, slow building soft(not hot) rub at your tonsils. Clean, thin, good carbonation. Good peppers. A little too simple. Okay.

On tap at the stone cold & way too big new location in downtown Asheville. Half pour. Clear gold. Soft cocoa nib scent. Where are the apples? Oddly good. Chocolate essence, acidic apple finish. Low carbonation & a little slick. Suggestive pepper smoke. This is supposed to work( & it probably doesn't), but I liked it.

On tap @ the new downtown location around the corner from Tasty Beverage. Clear pale gold. Obvious corn & jalepeno scent. I want to smell nachos. No nachos... Bland apples, peppers aren't in the flavor. Not quite thin with a near flat line carbonation. Safe to drink, but meh overall.

Update: 12/28/19 OG location. Darker, murky cherry juice body. Smell is berry with a twinge of fresh hops. Taste is a deep mash up of berries & only a slight backdrop of spicy hops. A blend of both batches would be perfect. Still need a stronger batch of cider apples to cut this. Original rate: 3.0. On tap at the OG West Asheville location. Clear copper gold tulip. Thin lace. Smell is tannic & forest fresh hops. Taste is acidic apples & astringent hops with tart raspberry, with a sweet strawberry finish. Thin. Hops overwhelm the fruit. Your preference if that's good or bad. Slightly slick body. Okay to good.

@ New Urban Orchard location. Tulip. Pale, clear yellow gold. Smells of guava/passion fruit & bittersweet apples. Softer then expected. Taste is initially sweet, hinting at the guest fruit, but then turns to mostly soft & tannic apples. Quiet, smooth, low carb, kinds tasty.

Tulip @ Urban Orchard OG. Still pale straw. Not quite clear. Generic bittersweet scent. Chalky texture, powdery yeast, light but sharp carbonation, bitter apples, tannic finish. Solid & genuinely dry.

On tap at Urban Orchard OG. Tulip. Cloudy, pale yellow/green straw. No head. Melon, yeast, perfumey soft apple, sulfur. Taste is more like pear then melon. Light acid, lighter tartness. Yeast. Soda water. Lingering green apple & honeydew. Soft. Okay.

Revisit (3.1) 5/21/21 Clear, vibrant gold. Faint, watery apple & florals. Medium sweet, light pineapple juice, clove, honey, crispy carbonation. Milder. Good. Old rating: (3.2) July 3, 2018 On tap at Urban Orchard. Short pour. Clear ginger gold sort of body. Smell is soft lavender, champagne yeast(?) & what seems like basil, laying across a base of sweet tropical citrus. Taste is residual-y sweet pineapple/apple juice, yeasties, & bitter skin & greens. Very acidic. Strong lavender, but the pineapple was very enjoyable.
