Description
Yellowhammer Brewing was started in 2010 by four guys who love good beer and were excited to see Alabama finally warm up to craft brewing. We seek to build on Belgian and German tradition. That means handcrafted European styles, but with a Southern interpretation.

Bottle: (9.4% on label) Cloudy, brown, with a small beige head. Woody, caramel aroma. Caramel malt, nuts, leafy taste. A bit of alcohol dryness and an herbal/woody bittering. Not bad...surprisingly smooth with just a little boozy heat at the finish.

Draft at the source. Color is dark brown/mahogany with a beige head. Aroma of malt, yeast, plums and other dark fruits. Taste is plum, raisin, dark fruits, spice, light yeast and alcohol. Finish is fairly sweet. It’s a decent attempt at a quad,but a lot better stuff out there.

Draft at the source. Pour is clear copper with a white head. Aroma is caramel malt, with light citrus and fruit. Taste is bread, caramel, citrus, and pine. Finish is piney with cleaning solvent notes.

Draft at the source. Pours deep gold with a fluffy white head. Has ample carbonation and moderate lacing. Aroma is citrus with some fruity notes. Taste is light malt with mild citrus and pine, with a mildly bitter piney finish. OK.

Draft at the source. Pours a clear deep golden with a white head. Not much aroma, maybe some yeast, light malts, and spices. Taste is spices, yeast, and bubblegum with a light fruitiness.

Draft at the source. Pour is cloudy and straw-colored with a white head. Nose is wheat, citrus, spices, and yeast. Flavor is citrus, yeast, bubblegum, and spices with ginger notes. Light-bodied with medium to high carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle thanks to Rick. Pours brown with no head. The aroma is cherry skin and oak. Thin mouth, toasted malt, cherry pith, spice, ok.
