Description
Yellowhammer Brewing was started in 2010 by four guys who love good beer and were excited to see Alabama finally warm up to craft brewing. We seek to build on Belgian and German tradition. That means handcrafted European styles, but with a Southern interpretation.

On tap at the brewery pours a murky yellow with some white head. Standard hazy. Melon on the nose with flowers and some citrus. Flavor the same with some oats and clear lactose. Creamy finish. 7 3 7 4 13

Taster at the brewery. Pours a hazy-ish yellow color, with a small, white head. The nose is mango, spruce tips, caraway, butterscotch, and almond. Sweet and syrupy, with a big, dank bitterness. Solid.

Taster at the brewery. Pours black, with a small, frothy, beige head. The aroma is light peat, graham crackers, coffee, and some herbal notes. Sweet and sugary, with a light, acrid bitterness. A bit thin. Pretty nice.

Taster at the brewery. Pours black, with a medium, foamy, tan head. The nose is dark chocolate, toasted coconut, caramel, and rye whiskey. Fairly dry and roasty. Heavy and chewy. Decadent and complex.

Taster at the brewery. A murky, reddish, brown, with a small, beige head. The nose is apple pie spice, caramel, rye toast, and oak. Sweet and yeasty, with a hard, grainy, bitterness. Medium body. Solid.

Taster at Das Stahl. Pours dark brown, with a small, tan head. The aroma is dates, cardamom, black pepper, toffee, and plum. Sweet and malty and spicy, with a light bitterness. Heavy, grainy, and biting. Well made and fun.

Can: Poured a pitch black with a khaki brown head. Aroma is rich malty, chocolateish, coffee, smoke. Taste is rich roasted malt, boozy, chocolate, coffee, drying finish.
