Bottle (thanks to blutt59). Banana, orange, clove, wheat malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with insanely large head. Sweet banana, clove, and creamy wheat malt flavor. Mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Nice.

Bottle. Coffee, chocolate malt and hay aroma. Dark brown with large tan head. Sweet chocolate malt and moderately bitter herbal quinine flavor. Good body. Good - very hoppy for a dunkel.

Draft on the brewery tour: Poured a marbled brown with an off white to light beige head. Aroma is roasted malts and sweet. Taste is nice blend of toffee, caramel, and roasted malts. There is nothing better than drinking a fresh dunkel at the source.

Draft at brewery tour: Poured a golden with white head. Aroma was light grain. Taste was crisp fresh grain with that light bitter I grew found of in my Germany days. Solid pils!

Sampled at the 2014 Untapped festival in Fort Worth. Pours a very hazy brown with a slight amber hue and a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is mainly notes of dark grains and dark bread. Flavor has the same dark grains and dark bread notes with a hint of bitter coffee underlying.

Tap - the first and most powerful aroma and flavor of this beer is powerful buttery diacetyl - the slick texture doesn’t make it easier to ignore this flavor - outside of this, there is some simple malt sweetness and lightly grassy hops, but mostly this tastes like butter - bleh.

Thanks to crajun for the trade! Pours a slightly hazy yellow with a smallish white head. The aroma is more like an American wheat than a German Hefe. Very little clove/banana, just a spicy wheat aroma. The flavor follows the aroma. OK but not outstanding.

Sample at Ginger Man in Houston. Clear straw color with a medium fluffy white head that recedes gradually. Sticky small patches of lace. Aroma of grassy hops, malt and wood. Light-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, earthy malt and slight oak. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.
