Description
Wachusett Brewing Company was founded by three Massachusetts college students obsessed with the brewing culture and an appreciation for craft beer during their adventures of biking, canoeing, and hiking around New England. Armed with a “we can do this” attitude, the three cast off from their careers in engineering and biology to pursue their passion to make great beer.

Pours a deep golden color with a decent white head that recedes quickly but leaves a fair amount of lace on the way down. Smells earthy and bit minerally with a fair amount of sugary malt sweetness and light floral hops beneath it. The flavor is sweet with an odd buttery tartness to it. Light toffee and butterscotch flavor with a mineral aspect to it. Little hop flavor and barely enough bitterness to keep this from cloying. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet sugary bubbly mouthfeel. I picked this up on a whim to fill my mix a six. This is quite sweet and lacks any balance, I’m glad I only have one.

Robert brought this one back from a trip to Boston. +++ Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy dark tan head that left good lacing. The aroma was malty and somewhat bitter with notes of cocoa and vague rough floral hops. The flavor was dry tobacco, smoke, raosty malts, fairly bitter with rough floral hops and noticeable alcohol. The finish was very long, dry and roasty with lingering roastiness and booziness. Moderately full bodied adn creamy. More of a stout than and imperial black IPA.

12 oz. bottle from Bert’s Better Beer. Mostly clear copper color. Lasting white head with decent retention. Caramel malt and I smell apples. Lightly sweet with a clean straight malt taste. Notes of nuts. Soft Co2 with a medium body. Ok, I like the Florida Beer Marzen a bit better. But is much better then Otter Creek Octoberfest. It reminders me of the Paulaner Marzen.

Cinnamon in the flavor is again; the most dominate flavor with, ginger, caramel malts, biscuit, and of course pumpkin. A true to style and very drinkable pumpkin ale.
