4 oz. draft at The Grog, Newburyport, MA. Hazy bright yellowish color. Aroma of white bread, citrus peel, and subtle pine. The flavor showed me grapefruit, lemons, and a mild herbal pine in the finish. Nice balance with an even bitterness.

Overall, very nicely made. I ordered a full 16 oz. pint after the taster. Nice drinkability.

Pours a slightly hazy golden straw from a can. Lightly citrus pine or spruce aroma, flavor is more of a pale malt with pine tinge. Crisply bitter. Okay beer.

Can pour into shaker pint glass from Andover Liquors. Appearance is cloudy orange-yellow (like watered-down orange juice) with nice sparkle at the edge of the glass, finger-plus width foamy white head with fair retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is tropical fruit, citrus, lighter resin and cracker. Taste is tangy tropical fruit and citrus with light herbs and late bitter. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, lively carbonation and spicy, sweet fruit balance with late bitter finish. Overall, aside from mild cracker in the aroma, this is really more IPA than APA. Nevertheless, whatever you call it, this is quite good. Bold aromas and flavors with interesting spiciness.

Review from notes, Sample at The Microbrew Invitational 6/3/2017 Deep amber color a bit dark for an IPA and not hazy at all. Earthy grainy citrus not too bad though.

Growler share with Henry and Doug.
We all opted for our snifters.
The appearance was a deep amber almost dark brown color with an off white foamy head that slid off at a moderate pace. Light stringy lace.
The aroma had a nice caramel/toffee malt base playing nicely with some bitter piney hops, light tobacco and a gentle earthiness.
The flavor was sweet initially and then bled into a blend of the earthy and piney hops. Aftertaste was the malts grabbing at the hops in a semi-smooth bitter to sweet sort of fashion. Finish was quick.
The palate was medium bodied with a good sipping quality about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty nice American Strong ale worthy of having again.

Crowler from Henry.
This was poured into a mug.
The appearance was a fairly dark brown color with a thin wisp of a little white foamy head. Lace was fairly messy.
The aroma had some sweet hazelnut, light toast, some milk chocolate, coffee creamer (somewhat like Irish coffee), some roasted nuts and a little bit of dark bread at the very end.
The flavor leaned towards the sweet side with a sly roasty to toasty sort of taste rolling in underneath. Aftertaste was definitely fully sweet encompassing all of the prior mentioned aromas. Finish was slightly sticky sweet.
The feel was just a touch under from medium bodied with a slick sort of feel along my tongue. Carbonation felt fine and the ABV felt fine.
Overall, sweet stout - yes. But I have had more balanced sweet stouts, this is not one of them.
