Raspberry beer from De Plukker, the brewery and organic hop farm in the old hop growing region of Poperinge. Very thick and foamy, audibly crackling, densely paper-lacing, large-bubbled, irregular but quite stable head on a misty peach blonde beer with ochre-ish tinge. Aroma of sweet white raspberries indeed, even a touch of raspberry bushes, honey, bread crumbs, white grapes, apple juice, ripe green kiwi, granulated sugar, prosecco, roses, hint of grass, dried rosemary, fresh tomato touch. Very fizzy onset, tingling overcarbonation distracting from the flavours; very fruity, sweetish but nowhere cloying, with indeed a touch of ripe sweet white raspberry but not overwhelmingly so and paired with hints of kiwi, red apple and peach; light sourish side effect from the fruit, but nowhere near actual tartness. Smooth middle, white-bready and cereally, light-bodied, with spicy elements clashing a bit with this raspberry juiciness and sweetness; floral hoppiness in the end, providing a gentle bitterish aspect while retronasally, a vague fresh (even somewhat 'green') tomato aspect linked to the raspberry appears, along with something 'dusty'. Quite distinct, this little fruit beer, with raspberry being noticeable in the nose more than in the actual taste; no doubt the very fizzy character has something to do with fermented fruit sugars, but this is not our classic in-your-face sweet 'framboise' beer at all, rather a spritzy, summery, elegant, bready and yeasty blonde with a dash of subtle raspberry thrown in. Not unpleasant, if you like fruit beers that are not artificially sweetened and feel 'natural', with a highly quenching character. Better than expected, even if this kind of fruited 'apéritif' beers is not really my thing.

Pours agressivly foamy, pillowy yet fast fading, making room for 'some' beer, that is blond, and rather unclear. Smell is malty, mostly. Typical BE yeast, mild hop touch (earthy) . Bit of an undefined 'jammy' touch, light yet recognizable, just not specifically raspberry. Taste is of raspberry is there, not as jammy as expected, but short in time, over a base of what seems like a very generic belgian blonde. Very high carbonation level, medium body. nothing bad about it, just nothing to go crazy over, nor exceptionnal.

Bottle at De Legen Doorn. Poperinge. Hazy orange gold colour. lasting white head. some farmland aroma. like a vegetable field but not in a bad way. sweet ish citrus fruit in mouth sweet but sharp orange lime and lemon. some dryness. an agricultural Tripel. ok.

Bière plate, sans complexité et sans intensité, cette Rookop ne met pas les atouts de son côté pour nous séduire. Js n'y vois pas d'âme en fait. Le visuel est correct avec un brun limpide avec une très fine mousse beige. Le nez, sur une légère amertume, est sur le chocolat, la noisette et le caramel. La problématique ne vient d'ailleurs pas ici de l'amertume qui est avec de l'admiral et du goldings et 20 d'IBU, plutôt élégante, bien dosée et fine. Le problème vient des arômes torréfiés pas assez développés, plat et sans réel intérêt. D'ailleurs à la dégustation, ceux ci sont même poins développés qu'au nez, et ce dès l'attaque où ce sont caramel et épices qui sont sur les devants, accompagnés d'un faible chocolat. La deuxième bouche est plate avec une dominante caramel. L’arrière-bouche marque un peu plus de présence avec des arômes de fumé et de chocolat qui se font ressentir, bien que trop faiblement. Cela est aussi le cas pour le final qui retombe trop vite avec un alcool à 6,5 % qui ne fait pas le poids. Ennuyeuse.

Ayant oublié cette Keikoppenbier, celle-ci était à 4 mois après sa date, ce qui n'a pas du l'arranger. Bière inconstante qui recherche une réelle ligne directrice, il est difficile de rentrer dans l'histoire qu'essaye de raconter cette Hoppig Blond. L'équilibre malt/houblon n'est pas très heureux et donne l'impression que le brasseur a choisi de ne pas choisir. Visuel très correct avec in blond orangé limpide parcouru pas de nombreuses fines bulles et surmonté pas une mince couche de mousse blanc cassé. Le nez est sur un cocktail peu exaltant d'herbes, d'agrumes, de pomme et miel. L'attaque est plutôt agréable avec une amertume modérée (IBU de 30) mais appréciable portée par un trio Pilgrim, Goldings, Cascade quelque peu floral avec de légères épices en complément des arômes présents au nez. Sir la deuxième bouche le malt prend les devants avec des arômes de miel qui prennent l'ascendant (avec pomme et herbes plus en retrait). Cela est encore plus vrai sur l’arrière-bouche lourde et peu gracieuse. Le final qui revient davantage sur l'amertume redevient plus fine et appréciable. L'alcool à 6,1 % est très correct, tout comme longueur et corpulence. Poussif.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, calls out Admiral and Goldings on the label. Pours brown with a thick, cream-coloured head. Aromas of nuts, toffee and demerara sugar. Taste is more of the same. Dry finish.
