750ml capped bottle pours a watery black with tons of frothy beige head. Nose has some caramel, some bubblegum, some spice, booze, coconut. Flavor has a lot of sweetness, caramel, vegetal, raisin, black pepper. Super heavy carbonation makes for a distracting finish.

750 ml bottle purchased at France 44 in Minneapolis. The pour is slight hazed copper golden with a smallish white head. Decent lace left on the glass. The aroma is spice, dry floral almost, mustard seed and light smoke. Bit of a briny character there as well. The taste is sharp sour smoke, heavy spice and a weird sweetness. Odd stuff. The palate is medium bodied with soft to no carbonation and a lingering sweet sour salt bizarre finish. Very odd beer, don’t have much experience with the style, though I don’t care for this.

On tap at Ward 6. Brown/reddish color. Grassy herbal hop aroma. Dry flavor, with more grass and hops. There is some dry malt in here, and I pick up a very dry, but flowerly quality as well. Fairly bitter but no hop burn, and it is very drinkable, despite its strength. I would agree this is not exactly an ipa, but more of a hybrid of pale ales. The manager said all ingredients are from Minnesota. Old rating from January 2013.
