Small off-white head, fed by lively carbonated orange-ochre beer. Sweetish citrus nose, some cat's pee/valerian. Some chalk too. Not very imposing; Quite bitter with a sweeter, malty surrounding. In the finish the CO² gives it a near sourish touch, which enhances the citrus. Long bitter-bitterish aftertaste, grapekernels. The aftertaste has also something of dried apricots; Very carbonated, very slick, smooth. I'm certainly not bowled over, but is nowhere bad. 6/4/7/3/14

On tap at Bret. Deep reddish amber-brown colour, beige head. Aroma of stewed fruits, confit fruits, quite sweet, malty, syrup, caramel, some yeasty plastic notes, light hoppy. Flavour is medium sweet to sweet, malty, raisins, stewed fruits, dark fruits, caramel, syrup, some alcohol, light hoppy, yeasty, light spicy, bittersweet fruity finish. Full bodied, slick. Tasty Barley Wine - Abt hybrid, but has a few (yeasty) flaws.

Draft @ In De Wildeman. Black color. Dense, creamy beige head with good retention and lacing. Aroma's: smoked, sweetish, light fruit, something boozy, or herbal? Retronasal it's smoke, sweetish, light red fruit, herbal. Flavor is above moderate sweet. Rather full bodied. Long finish, light roasted bitterish.

Bottle @ home. Typical bock beer darker amber color, average sized off-white to beige head. Not a lot of aroma initially. After a while some malts and caramel but I don't get much more. Flavor is malts, caramel, lightly malty bitter but also a bit dark sugary sweetish. Not the standard bockbier but also not that far away from it. Solid as always from Pontus.
