Thanks to Douberd, my 2014 Secret Santa. Black color with a beige head with medium lasting. aroma has notes of licoricea and roasted malts. Flavor is slightly bittery dominated by licorice, some ashes hints and roasted malts. Light bittery final with coffee beans mouthfell on palate.

33cl bottle from ABCBeers. Thin creamy white head. Hazy pinkish golden pour. It’s an interesting experiment but it doesn’t grab me and say I want to drink it again

Bottle from trade with Bierkoning, many thanks Edo! Sehr dunkelbraunes/schwarzes Bier mit geringer bräunlichen Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Süßholz, schokoladig, Kaffee. Geschmack süß schokoladig, wärmend, Vanille, reife Früchte, vollmundig, leicht alkoholisch.

Small to medium, just yellowish head over hazed, lightly amberish orange beer. Ureum-rich hops’ nose, quite dry smelling; fruity too - if partly dried fruit, dried herbs. Bitter, hoppy, straw-like, faintly roasted flavours; roasted (once) green herbs. Near dry-out effect, hopoil astringency, nearly medium bodied. Quite good; bone dry.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 23 Aug 2014) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, slightly sourish nose with raspberries, orange and some toast. Fruity taste with notes of raspberries, citrus, orange and a gentle tartness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness and a moderate bitterness. Quite tasty with lots of raspberries. Interesting and really nice.

Bottle picked up from De Bierkoning. Pours darker side of amber, bit reddish, bit hazy. Bottle seems to be well carbonated but when poured out, the head is not overwhelming. Aroma dry, hoppy, resinous. I also get some fresh spruce tips. Taste has some hops, not that resiny as I expected, more like citrus hops but gone maybe a bit stale. Not bad though, from the drier and less fruitier end of IPA’s but I guess you need those as well. Somehow reminds me those beers I have had in Arendsnest - which is not surprising given that those beers and this beer are all from the Netherlands.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Opaque murky orangy color (last part of the bottle), rough off-white head. Aroma is lightly malts, nicely hoppy, quite floral, lightly fruity. Taste lightly malts, hops, lightly fruity, moderately bitter. Decent body, very fizzy carbonation.
