33cl Bottle from Sterk Avondverkoop. Hazy pink-orange colour, light-pink head. Aroma of Citra hops, hibiscus, resembling raspberries a bit, fruity, yeast, light peppery. Flavour of citrus, light raspberries, yeast, light peppery, bitter finish. Light-bodied, watery. Fun, different beer, but not great.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Rotem. Cloudy gold. Nice fruity hops aroma, a bit yeasty and soapy. Dry flavor with yeast, fruity hops and some bitterness. Medium-bodied. A bit too yeasty, but still nice.

Bottle @ NS tasting. Murky dark brown color, small to average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, lightly dark malts, some hops, nicely fruity, roasted malts but also quite peppery and I think that should not be in a black IPA. Decent though.

Bottle shared. Pours murky dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of dish washing soap, fruity hops, malt, roast. Flavour is moderate sweet and over moderate bitter. Black pepper coming out in the palate and lingering in the finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

33cl Bottle from Sterk Avondverkoop. Black colour, thick beige head. Aroma of liquorice and aniseed, some roasted malts and a hint of coffee, molasses. Flavour is sweet, aniseed, liquorice, ripe dark fruits, roosvicee, roasted malts, anise in the bittersweet finish, some mocha. Medium bodied. Too heavy on the liquorice and aniseed.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 22 Aug 2014) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, grapefruit, orange peel, caramel and resin. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, orange peel, grapefruit, caramel and a generous resiny bitterness. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well made and tasty IPA. Nice one.

330 ml. bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. BBF 10/2014. Oeps. Dark golden, creamy white head. Nose is milky, tad yoghurt, thick yeast, old dough,…. Nose seems like a warning. Taste is not bad luckily. Taste is faintly lactic, old orange, bitter plastic hop, bitter plastic dough, peel, mellow fruity bitterness,…All of this sounds way worse than it is because it really was a decent beer & quite enjoyable. I’m actually quite liking this. Body is thick slick plastic. It just drinks well & it is fun in its own way.

Bottle shared. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of massive licorice upfront, big aniseed, chocolate, light roast, caramel and overripe dark fruit. Flavour is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Too much licorice for my taste.
