[9/29/14] Bottle at Arendsnest in Amsterdam. Hazy orange-amber with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma of overripe tropical fruits, citrus and yeast. Mildly sweetish flavor, with yeast, fruity hops and a bitter finish, slightly astringent. Medium-bodied, over-carbonated. Quite refreshing.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub. Opaque pitch black color, average sized brown head. Anise and liquorice in the aroma with malts and roasted malts. Taste malts, roasted malts, again clearly anise and liquorice and nicely bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Pretty nice! Normally I’d expect the anise to be annoying but it isn’t. Very well done!

Bottle from Speciaal Bier Winkel, Bodegraven, Netherlands, Friday 26th September 2014, consumed at Staybridge Suites hotel apartments, Newcastle, Tuesday 30th September 2014. Pours murky, hazy light amber. A pleasant fuzzy, furry bitterness is a constant here and very good this beer is for that. A soft pithiness, some cooked morrocan lemon, its really nice.
