Can. An unclear yellow beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of yeast, soap, and a bit of malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of lemon, dust, malt, and metal, leading to a dry metallic finish. Thanks Theis for sharing.

Can 35 cl. Pours an opaque pale yellow with a dense white head. Sweet malty nose, a little citrus as well. Lightly yeasty nose, again with a whiff of citrus. Medium body, dry maltiness, again yeast and then some flowery hops leaving a dry bitterness. I would say this is a Zwickel. 250610

2007 vintage, 2 years aged, draught at Q-Brick. The most beautiful dark crimson colored beer I have ever seen. Thin, lacy, head. Aroma of partly oxidized aged malt, cherry, and stone fruits, and a bit of smoke, Subtle and integrated. Flavor of rich caramel malt, slightly oxidized, with chocolate, cherries, raisins and other dried fruits, as well as some wood and a bit of funk. Quite dry, with sherry notes as well. Smooth, rich, and heavy. Wonderfully put together, though not really original or exciting. Very reliably done bock.

Bottle. Hay and grass aroma pale golden creamy head Hayisch malt, dry bottom, grassy with a few corn flowers. Medium body, chewy enough, but also ever so slightly sticky. No doubt leagues better than the usual pale lagers here, but I feel they are holding back.

Bottle. Light clove aroma cloudy yellow, lowish head. Flavorwise it hits a Hefeweizen from Oberbayern perfectly: Sweet wheat, vanilla, clove and plenty of bananas. Kind of fitting I should try this in the Japanese alps. If I have to critisize, then the body could be a bit fuller and chewier, but that doesnt detract from the enjoyment,

Draught at Popeye, Tokyo. Very dark brown. Coffee and cherry liqueur up front. Sweet and full bodied with lots of estery alcohol. Caramelly chocolate sauce and cherry builds upto a pungent alcoholic finish.

Bottled at Thrash Zone, Yokohama. Very dark brown, small head. Intriguing aroma of strawberry, tiger balmand cofee. Fairly sweet with medium-full body. There’s aniseed and ginger. Despite it’s size it feels so light and sparkling at times that I can almost imagine that I’m drinking a ginger ale, but then there is depth too. Its fruity and herbal with roasty malt and that confusing tiger balm. Fun stuff indeed.
