Bottle - Made for Lezzet - Vinous, grains, malty sweetness, orange hops. Clear copper with a thin beige head. Orange hops, caramel and an intense woody bitterness that overwhelms the end and finish.

Draft - Vintage 2012 - Plum liquor and cherry. Clearish copper with a nice rich beige head. Rich sweet malts, almost barley wine like, with pitted fruit and a long sweet finish.

5% On tap at the Ibaraki Bakuon fest 2013. A cloudy yellow pour with a filmy white head. The aroma is fruity, full bodied with a spicy clove taste which is what I prefer. A surprisingly solid weizen. Quite good.

Bottled. Light tropical fruit nose. Not much flavor, malt, near zero hop flavor, slightly fruity. Not much happening.

deep amber hue. Sweet maltiness that borders on cloying which I didn’t really like. Kure has never been one for using hops, but this could have used a bit more. The finish is very yeasty though which is interesting and a somewhat saving grace of this beer, but overall too cloying in the mouth.

On tap at the Kyoto Craft Beer Fest. 35 IBUs It poured with a nice rich ruby color. It was malty sweet & rich though slightly overcarbonated for the style I felt. I agree with KyotoLefty, it’s a nice barleywine but a bit too young. I’m happy they tapped a keg at 5:30pm so I could get a taste!
