Bottle poured and shared. Thanks Chris C! What a fun cider this is. By the way, the bottle is fantastic. It gives you pouring instructions that are not easy to perform, though we tried our best. Pours a super light, cloudy yellow color with no head. Sweet green apple aroma. Taste has a little bit of every side. Flavor is a little salty, with some sour green apple. Pretty sweet as well. A little soapy as well, but mostly hidden towards the finish. Nice, unique sour. Fun stuff.

Tap at Ginger Man. Hazy golden color, pale, with light bubbles. Funky nose, quite acidic, green apples, farmyard, some juicy fruits. Seriously sour flavor of lemon and green apples, very acidic. Fun, could not drink a lot.

Another great Basque cider, though a touch below some of the others I’ve had in this category. Pours golden clear without much head or lacing. A smokey, meaty feel with lots of apple peel and a good crabapple dose. Finishes tangy, and a good drink overall. Cider makers must learn from the Basques. They predate European language patterns. Tap at Churchkey.

4 oz draft pour at ChurchKey. Slightly hazy yellow with no head. Aromas of funk, apples, light vinegar. Tastes of apples, tabasco, vinegar, tart fruit. Light body with a dry finish. Still to very very slight carbonation. Can’t say I’ve had many of the style but this was a solid Basque cider.

Rating #2700. Pours cloudy pale golden color with no head. Tart apple aroma with some mustiness. Sweet and tart apple flavor with dank mustiness. Light to medium body with no carbonation. I really enjoy the French and Spanish ciders and this was no exception. The tartness was a nice surprise. Good stuff.

Bottle. Hazy to cloudy golden yellow color with floaties. Aroma of sour apple, leom, subtle strawberry and rhubarb. Taste starts with sweet apple tarts then softly sour apple skins and subtle citrus. Very tasty.

27/11 0.75 l bottle from a small grocery store near Abando, Bilbao. It poured hazy yellow body with big head, and I did pour it from maybe half recommended height of crazy 1 meter! Aroma was also strong enough, very funky, apple, citrus, some cork and touch of leather. Flavor was typically sour with not only apples but also nice yeast notes, some sweet honey things and paper towards the end. Medium bodied, tasty, with long tart, astringent finish. Fresh sour apples all the way through, pleasant and refreshing cider, while it had lot of complexity and flavor, comparable to very sour lambics with more apples. Almost didn’t bought it as the label looked too cheesy. What an error would it be!

750 ml bottle courtesy of beastiefan2k. I have only had one other Basque Cider, excited to try this. The pour is chill haze golden yellow, with no head. The aroma is fresh tart apple, along with a soft Brett leathery yeast. Behind the apple and funk is a sweetness, honey, though a bit more sugary than that. The taste is the fresh apple, along with the tart funky yeast of the nose. The sweetness is very much present as well, giving the overall taste a funky sweet apple pie sort of character. The palate is medium bodied, along with a very small amount of soft natural carbonation, sweet tart funky apple finish. There is a hint of plastic in the finish. Overall, a very interesting and tasty Cider. Thanks for sharing this one Eugene.
