El Bar, Philadelphia: Pours a golden colour with a white head. Aroma is grain and hops. Taste is pretty much the same. It is very easy to drink quickly. It has more hops than does the archetypical Dortmunder. For some reason I was always under the impression that this beer was a golden ale. In any case, it is good to finally get this rating out, as I have had this many times over the years, but have only just now rated it.

22oz bottle-pours black with a tight rich light brown head. Aroma is rich dark malt-chocolate/cocoa/anise, earthy. Taste is anise/chocolate/coffee-rich dark malt with a roast bite, earthy hops. Occasional.

Interesting take on what appears to be a Belgian style at the core. The addition of the lemongrass and ginger adjuncts add unique flavoring and appearance( chunks of ginger dancing in the carbonation!). definitely a different brew, and would probably go well with some Asian cuisine...

On tap at Mad Mex. Pours cloudy pale golden with small white head. Some thin lacing, medium carbonation, and light wheat aroma. Taste is off wheat, some tart lemon, and a little coriander. A little below average.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a very big almost gushing white head and a golden color. The aroma is light Pils malts and honey. A smooth flavor with some pepper, lemon and Pils malt. Nothing overpowering but it is pretty light and smooth.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a very cloudy copper color with a small white head. A sweet caramel and hop nose, fruity. The flavor is a somewhat juicy caramel bite with some lingering bitterness, less late boil flavors more raw bitterness. Odd in some ways. Tastes like a hopped up amber ale with all early boil additions. Decent.

Golden with a white head. Aroma is light citrus and a hint of malt. Thin bodied. Flavor has a nice citrus fruit and just the slightest toasty malt. Not a flavor powerhouse but since it’s pushing 90 degrees right now this is a great summer refresher.

On tap at the Harris grill. Opaque brown. Quite sweet on the aroma, alarming to say the least. First taste is also sweet and alarming. A little cloying and now the aroma is too. Has a slight raosty background in there that makes it acdceptable at times. Becomes a little more difficult as the session continues. Yes, finish is a little crude for a lager lover, fer sure.

Pours near black with a tan head. Aroma has nicely roasted malts, chocolate, light vanilla, sweet malts. Medium-full bodied. Flavor is full of chocolate, lightly vanilla, roasted malts. Has a bit of a bitter roasted malt bite to it at the end. Very nice beer. I wish they would distribute this around a bit more.

Had this on tap at the 1 for the road. Looks a little darker than a pale lager, there is just a little tint of brown and orange in there. No head. Smell is gently spicy. Yes, some rude spices in there become more apparent as the session continues. Typical holidy spiced beer. Very little co2 but what is ther is somewhat creamy.
