Cloudy ruby red color, creamy lasting head. Smells like incense (wierook in dutch). Malty and yeasty taset. Bitter palate, bit alcoholic.

Hazy golden color; thin, persistent pelage. Very nice aroma, malty, fruity (anans & mango, banana), candies, light wood; original & complex.
Full mouth, malty, perfectly balanced between a light sweetness and a correct bitterness; different to believe it's so strong!
The final starts gently, getting bitter more and more.
Different, but a valid antagonist for the Duvel!

Beer displays bottling date! Excellent! Colour is yellow-orange, with fast dissipating white head. nose gives diacetyl, some coriandre (?), lime-water. Diacetyl masks so much... Taste is diacetyl, although not really all-overpowering; sweet basic taste, a bit of citrus flavour. There is another volatile compound, but I can't pin it down. Mouthfeel is rather spritzy. A little alcohol. Diacetyl seems to enhance the body. Aftertaste sweetish. Flavours keep long going. Some brewers will probably never learn, but i'm surprised that a professional team as Naudts' will deliver such diacetyl containing beer, and a pale beer at that. It leaves no other flavour a chance.

Yeast completely floculating & in suspension. Orange-yellow, hazy. Nose is, not surprisingly, very yeasty. Dry and sugary at the same time. Some citrus. Taste is sweet with some overlying bitterness as from orange peel or bitter spices (turmeric, horseradish). Surprisingly empty mouthfeel, seen the yeast. Alcohol. Aftertaste just some more bitterness. Doesn't really convince me, truth to be told.

Clear golden, thick, yellowish head. Very yeasty nose, bubblegum; some grain, sweetish. Taste is really yeast-bitter (yeast is NOT in suspension), very hoppy. Spicey backthroat-bitterness, long. There IS an underlying sweetness, but it is more guessed than tasted. Mouthfeel is a bit pappy, some alcohol. Aftertaste is bitterness; which goes on.

The unlabelled bottle comes wrapped in paper. Pours copper coloured, and sports a creamy, dense head. The aroma is very fruity and somewhat flowery. It is full bodied and dominated by a sweet mango flavour and candyish tofee. It has rich, thick mouthfeel and a lingering sweet mango finish. It is an excellent ale when sampled in small amounts, although a full bottle gets almost cloying.

Amber ale. Wonderful malt aroma. Sweet, a bit spicy. It smoothly turns to bitter with a beautiful aromatic final. Very good example of Belgian strong ale.
