[bottled in 2001] - excellent porter - the perfect pour, inky black, with about an inch of head that settles to an attractive ring of off-white lace - yeasty, roasty aroma - flavor is as complex as porters get - coffee, chocolate, plums, caramel - finishes with a touch of smoked malt, almost like a scottish ale - some creaminess lingers on the tongue - great stuff.

Brown beer with a hazy moss-green shine; yellowish head, dense, but not very lasting. Spicey nose (cardamom before anything, brännvin glögg spices), but also piney. Taste: the Cardamom strikes again. but - there IS more, little ginger, cloves and pepper/coriander under the tonguesides. Quite some sweetness. Well-carbonated, medium-bodied. Aftertaste: well, cardamoms, of course, and a touch of bitterness that is pure spice. Very Scandinavian... I remember my own brännvin glögg parties. OK, OK, I yield. This is alcoholised cardamom cola. But, well, me, I happen to like cardamoms...

This beer has next to no aroma - but hints of sweetness. The color is yellow and it has no head. The flavor is slightly sweet, and slightly sour as if it has been brewed on brewing cereal. It also has notes of straws. The end is hoppy but only slightly bitter. A boring light beer.

The aroma is malty sweet with notes of caramel and straws - very nice. The color is clear amber and it has a fine beige head. The flavor is malty sweet with notes of burnt caramel, straws, and nuts. In the middle it turns a little watery - weird considering the 6% ABV. But in the end it gains strength with some good malt bitterness that gives way for a burnt dryness. A very nice and complex beer. Thanks to Per.

The aroma is sweet and malty with notes of bread. The color is a light brown and it has a fine dense head but fast disappearing. The flavor is sweet - too sweet for me - with malty notes of roasted bread - a very simple flavor. An OK beer, but nothing special.

Dark golden colour. Big, fluffy head. Sweet malt aroma. Medium bodied. Short-lived floral hoppiness. "Czech Style"??

Canned. Golden colour, brief head. Fruity aroma with a very light touch of saaz hops. Plain, straight forward, clean malt character. Salty, bitterish finish with a touch of aromatic oil. Pretty decent for a Carlsberg product.

Slight chokolaty nose. Dark brown, somewhat feeble head. Mainly coffee and milkchokolate flavors, quite pronounced for a beer of this strength. Body is of course light (but not catastrophically so) and the finish quick, yet a bit roasted coffee lingers. Quite nice I think.

Bottle. Minimal hop nose. Deep golden, big bubbles, quickly fading head. Ok balance, but watery and boring. My opinion may be tainted by the awfull meal I got this served to.

Dark brown color. Fresh sweet aroma. Light body structure, but with a delicate nice roasted barley note. Bitter final, dominated by the roasted character.
