Bottle at Max’s courtesy of Casey - a million thanks! Shared with steptin. Black. Tiny bubble edge head. The aroma reminds me of a summer visit to the Isola di Capri! The taste leaves me almost speechless - licorice, vanilla, molasses, and the hard candy that my grandmother always kept in a dish on her coffee table. Best beer of the night, and an amazing night it was!

Draught, 13% at the brewpub. Alcoholic and vinous, roasted aroma. Black colour, very small light brown head. Good mouthfeel. Nicely roasted flavour, OK sweetness to balance. Hint of vanilla. Quite a lot of alcohol, but balanced off OK by the sweetness.

A dep dark stout with a thin creamy dark moka head. A nice musky chocolate aroma, rather powdery, with some light cherry notes and oaken overtones. In mouth, a lightly lactic and musky chocolate, very dry and powdery, corky notes, some light soya sauce, not bad, but something is off here. On tap at brewpub, June 20 2010.

A hazy blonde ale with a very thin white head. A light sweet belgian banana aroma, light lemon notes. In mouth, almost veering on a Belgian wit with light cloves and banana esters, a bit watery, but refreshing. On tap at brewpub, June 20 2010.
