Tap at Bikkuri Donki in Sapporo. Clear straw gold with a big rocky head that lasts throughout. Light grass and bread aromas with some light lemon. Nice chewy bready malts with a good peppery finish. Very nice pils. --- Beer merged from original tick of Donkey Organic Beer on 03 Jan 2016 at 13:55 - Score: 7

Bottle from Tokyu in Sapporo. Pours a clear brown with a minimal latte-colored head. Nose is caramel, molasses, biscuit and some light fruit. Light body and easy drinking. Tastes the same as the nose more or less. Not overly sweet or overdone at all. Nice.

Bottle from Tokyu in Sapporo. Pours a hazy golden straw with a huge pillowy white head. Big creamy banana aroma with some clove, lemon and white pepper. Taste is more of the same. Body is a little light, but the flavor is nice. Peppery finish with some spice. --- Beer merged from original tick of Weiss on 14 Jul 2015 at 21:12 - Score: 7

Bottle from Tokyu bottle shop in front of Sapporo station. Pours a clear gold with a nice white head. Nose is light floral with some grain ad grassy hops. Taste is more if the same. Great balance. Light pepper on the finish with a bit of stone fruit as it warms. --- Beer merged from original tick of Pilsner on 14 Jul 2015 at 09:38 - Score: 7

deep pink purple color. Sweet, freshly cut raspberry nose. Malty, sweet lots of raspberries. Balanced, rounded. Nice. Well executed fruit beer, albeit pretty damn sweet but nice workmanship.

Bottle. Grainy nose, a bit skunky, grass. Faint golden color, light head. Think and grainy flavor, light and weak. Quite bitter. Not so good at all. The organic malt they are using just doesn’t do the trick. Unlike Otaru.

Draught at Beer Horn. Pretty amber-orange, clear, with a tall, fine head. Lovely smoky nose: bacon, smoked salmon, light caramel. Rather sweet, with caramel and smoke flavors, apple, wood too. Rich malt. Crisp finish. A touch too sweet, but good stuff.

Had this during my trip to Otaru in the winter of 2012, I thought I’d rated it already. On tap at the brewery served in the traditional ceramic mug which made it hard to appreciate the beers appearance but it definitely had a luscious head of foam. A good solid dunkel bock with a smooth full mouthfeel.

Backlog, bottled, enjoyed in 2008. Color is quite dark for a Weizen (ref: Schneider). Aroma’s of wheat, malt/grain, sour fruit. Flavor is true Weizen, wheat-malty, refreshing. Flavor lingers for a long time and there’s even a hint of bitterness.
