Apple pie feeling. Cinnamon. Bit of tartness. Quite fun.
Malty. Decent hops. Interesting light funk.

Bottle from Isetan Kyoto, I guess they had yet another Hokkaido Fair. The name roughly means Boss's Promotion Beer, the label says it is a bitter ale while the website says Session IPA. Session IPA is probably just marketing bullshit... Nice looking copper color with a fruity malty aroma. Medium bodied with a very English malt character and somewhat fruity aroma. As a bitter I'd say they pretty much nailed it but anyone buying this believing it to be a Session IPA will woefully disappointed.

Darker amber, thin head. Aroma has some sweeter caramel stuff. Sweet, with mild bitterness and more caramel. Pretty generic amber, slightly yeasty.

5% Served in a weizen glass. This beer pours a cloudy gold with a big fat thick foamy head. It looks good, the last time I had this way back in 2002 or so when I got a set to go when leaving Hakodate it was in cool funky aluminium bottles, this time around it was a regular brown bottle picked up at Kyoto Isetan. A nice soft peppery clove and banana aroma. The beer has a medium body & a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is estery, a bit of sharp cloves, wheaty and light banana bread. Tasty stuff, while not great it is very solid.

Backlog, on tap during my visit to the brewery/restaurant in 2008. Cloudy red color. Aroma’s: fruit, spices/herbs, yeast, a bit old. Flavor is fruity, light sweet, a bit of drop/licorice, bay leaves. Light bodied. Long finish, but no new flavor. A bit strange, but the best I had from this brewery.
