500ml limited edition FC Bayern Munchen can from Noz. Had this so many times in Germany years ago but never checked it in. Until TODAY ☝️ Pours cloudy gold, large white head that overflows the glass and caused a mess on the table. Lacks the impact it once had I'll be honest, soft enough on the lips, but Weiss elements seem to fade away rapidly. Could be that it's from a can and not a bottle.

Bottle from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white head. Low carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of caramel, red apple, brown sugar and raisin. Flavour of toffee, dried apricot and honey. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Soft fizz. It’s very nice but it doesn’t have the depth or sweetness of my favourite Doppelbocks.

On tap at Hops, Crewe. Pours a cloudy dark chestnut with minimal scummy off-white head. The aroma has an enticing mix of spicy hops, toast and dried fruit. In the mouth it is sweet and tangy. Flavour has hops, dark bread, malts, caramel and fudge. Later there are hints of raisins, peel, alcoholic strength, even a touch of cherries. Finish is boozy and somewhat dry. This is rather nice – and dangerously drinkable !
