Pours gold/amber with a fading white head.Nose shows spicy and floral hops. Also some bready malt.Pretty aggressive flavours. Very bitter. Some spicy hops and pine along with a soft grapefruit note. The sharp bitterness is overbearing.Carbonation seems excessive.

Pours amber with a small head.Nose shows sweet clean malt, herbal notes, tropical fruity hops and biscuity malt.Hoppy flavours, with some herbal astringency too. Chilli is noticeable as a burn on the back of the throat. Can’t detect much of the fruit and mint though.Too much carbonation.

Pours gold/amber with a fading head.Nose shows lemon myrtle confectionery noes, light sweet malt and lemon zest.Lemon myrtle is prominent as a flavour too along with the bitter grapefruit. The kaffir lime is faint. Quite herbal leading to an astringent bitterness.Carbonation seems a little full on.Needs more malt and less grapefruit.

[5/13] Bottle. Clear gold with a white head. Resinous tropical fruit aroma - passionfruit, lychees, gooseberries, lime leaf. Really didn’t get any grapefruit. Lowish carbonation works for me. Sweetish but without caramel, avoids being fruit salad-y. Strong bitterness and pepper emerge from the fruit. A hell of a lot of fun. [3.9] [12/15] Can. Quite hazy with a white head. Pungent - meaning way beyond vibrant - gooseberry and grass aroma with Seville oranges and some tropical fruit. Resin, wet spices that come across as like the residue dripping from a Thai market pestle - galangal, garlic, shallots, lime. Very strong bitterness. I had a dud one of these a while back (it was pretty sweet and had hints of crystal; not sure I’d know if this’s sweet), but this one is again around as aggressively-hopped a beer as I’ve had. Pushing it. [2/17] Bottle. A little less bitter, loads of tropical fruit, rather less of the shallot end of things.
