Description
Kinn Bryggeri AS was incorporated in April 2009.

Here at Kinn we create craft beers in the English and Belgian traditions based on the purest mountain water from Sagafjella. Ancient craftsmanship - open fermentation and bottle conditioning - are important to us. None of our beers are ever pasteurised or filtered, and every one of them is brewed in our two breweries in Florø. Kinn beers are available off the shelf throughout Norway, and we also export to selected countries.

Bottled. Cloudy dark amber, rich head. Wonderful, concentrated aroma of lychee and kiwi fruits. Mid sweet with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Pleasant seemless hop character - gooseberry, mango and lychee. Marked bitter finish. One of the best IPAs I’ve had in a good while.

On tap at HaandFestival 2012. It pours a more or less black body, topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. Lightly burnt aroma, tending towards peated, some bonfire hints, cold coffee and a sort of fruity note. There’s some sweetness in the flavor, with burnt, bonfire-like maltiness, coffee and some fruityness. It’s soft on the palate, pleasantly carbonated and more or less full-bodied. Bitter, burnt finish with coffee. A nice one indeed, but a bit too much on the burnt side I think. 120504

On tap at HaandFestival 2012. Looking gorgeous this one, with its black body, and dense, finger-thick off-white to beige head. It’s lightly roasted on the nose, there’s a touch of licorice, and a pleasant hoppyness, citrus peel and pine cones. The flavor has a nice bitterness to deal with the roasted malts, and there’s citrus peel, pine cones and some faint licorice as well. Dry, full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, finishing roasted and bitter. A tasteful, balanced, dry and really pleasant beer. 120504

On tap at Naboen. It’s a hazy, dark golden beer topped by a layer of off-white bubbles. There’s a butterscotch touch in the aroma, some fruitiness, and a little maltiness. Caramel hints. Hard carbonation, medium body, with a little caramel maltiness, some bitterness and a little butterscotch. Grains and some fruitiness too. A little bitterness in the finish. A rather unpleasant one, boring too. Hope it’s just an old keg. 120908
