Description
Kinn Bryggeri AS was incorporated in April 2009.
Here at Kinn we create craft beers in the English and Belgian traditions based on the purest mountain water from Sagafjella. Ancient craftsmanship - open fermentation and bottle conditioning - are important to us. None of our beers are ever pasteurised or filtered, and every one of them is brewed in our two breweries in Florø. Kinn beers are available off the shelf throughout Norway, and we also export to selected countries.

Bottle, 75cl. It pours a clear, golden body under a minimal-sized, dense, off-white head. The aroma is sugary and fruity, with some alcohol, a faint spiced note and some citrus hints. The flavor is on the fruity side, with a touch of citrus peel and some alcohol, giving a certain warmth on the palate. Full-bodied and semi-dry. Lasting fruity finish with a touch of spices. A decent one indeed, but not among the classics. 120302

75cl bottle from Meny. Pours brownish pink with a white head. Aroma of raspberry with hints of citrus and yeast. Taste like raspberry soda with some bitterness. Light body with medium carbonation. Short aftertaste. Somewhat refreshing, but not a favourite.

On tap at grünerløkka festival. A hazy, orangey brown beer topped by a dense, small off-white head. Lightly roasted nose with caramel and piney notes. Quite bitter, with caramel, pine cones and some caramel in the back. Full to medium body, pleasant carbonation, and dry enough. Mostly bitter finish. Certainly a pleasant one. 120825

On tap at Grunerløkka festival. A hazy, orange beer with a small, dense, off-white head. Lightly fruity, mostly berry-ish and lightly sweetish aroma. Raspberry-like, sweet flavour with some bitterness in the back. Medium body, pleasant carbonation. Lightly sourish, more in the end than in the start. A quite pleasant one, sort of refreshing too. 120825

On tap at Nærbø Ølfestival. Looking gorgeous this one, with it’s big, dense, light tan head soon diminishing into a finger-thick layer of cream leaving lacings. Black body. Licorice, roasted malts, some burnt notes and coffee, as well as a pleasant touch of dried fruits and alcohol in the aroma. The flavor is nicely sweet, with coffee, licorice and some burnt notes. Dried fruits and a touch of alcohol too. Full-bodied and supersmooth, definitely deserving a 5 on the palate score. Lots of roasted style bitterness and some hoppy bitterness in the end. A bit warming in the end maybe, but certainly a beauty. 111022

On tap at Nærbø Ølfestival. A yellowish golden, unclear beer topped by a dense, white, finger-thick head. Grainy and lightly citrusy aroma with some faint biscuity notes. The aroma has the same malty and citrusy elements found in the aroma, as well as some bitterness, sweetness and acidity. Nothing funky, the acidity. Medium body. Grainy finish in need of more bitterness. Well, a bit dull this one, but sort of quenching and far, far from undrinkable. 111022

Bottle, at RBNAG-11. A big, creamy, off-white head over a golden-orange body. Coriander, generic fruityness, lemon hints and a little bit of pale malts in the aroma. The flavor is a bit too much on the coriander side I think. Fruity, and with a nice bitterness. Medium body, dry. Coriander finish. Overall, a decent and easy drinkable beer, but nothing extraordinary going on. 111015

Bottle. Pours unclear red, with a nice full head. Aroma is very sweet and raspberry-ish, with a touch of hops. Nice, but a bit too much juice/ soft drink feel. Flavour is sweet, with good fruitiness as well as berries, and a nice, distinct yeasty acidity.
