Description
Kinn Bryggeri AS was incorporated in April 2009.

Here at Kinn we create craft beers in the English and Belgian traditions based on the purest mountain water from Sagafjella. Ancient craftsmanship - open fermentation and bottle conditioning - are important to us. None of our beers are ever pasteurised or filtered, and every one of them is brewed in our two breweries in Florø. Kinn beers are available off the shelf throughout Norway, and we also export to selected countries.

750 ml bottle @ Patricks. Hazy golden body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of sweet malt, yeast, spices, dry fruit and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, light malty, sugar, spices, fruit, yeast and alcohol, low bitterness. Medium body. It’s sweet, but doesn’t have this sticky white sugar flavor that many triples do taste like. The alcohol is hot, and balance the sweetness very well. It almost taste refreshing with lively carbonation. Nice triple.

750 ml bottle. Hazy orange body with a thin off-white head. A relatively light aroma of citrus fruit and yeast. Flavor is light fruity and refreshing, a light bitterness that feels a bit sharp in contrast to the acidity. Normally I’m positive to some acidity or sourness in the flavor, but this time it feels unbalanced. I know this beer is supposed to have some kind of sourness, but for me this feels like close to an infection. It might just be me, but this is not the best beer I have tasted from this fine brewery, sorry.

Bottle. (my second beer from Kinn Bryggeri, the bottle was bought at Vinmonopolet in Stavanger in June 2011) Hazy orange with a large white head. Good aroma and taste, mainly Belgian yeast, hay and some fruit. Very refreshing and drinkable with a nice sour twist on it.

Bottle, 75cl. A gusher, producing an unclear, brown body and a foamy, two-finger head. Pleasant nose with roased malts, some chocolate and coffee and notes of hops. Big, malty flavor with chocolate, roasted malts and a little bitterness trying to bring balance. Not that it’s balanced, but it’s very tasty anyway. Full-bodied and nicely carbonated. A pleasant and tasteful beer indeed, but it didn’t bring thoughts of Christmas. Not that I will refrain from drinking it just because of that. 110311
