16 ounce can from Total Wine & More in South Bay. Opaque jet black pour. Dark brown head dissipates quite fast, leaving a small tan ring. Interesting aroma of dark roasted malt and dark chocolate. Flavor is intensely sweet with notes of bittersweet chocolate, chocolate wafer cookies and sweet cream. Quite boozy, as well.There is an underlying sweet funkiness that is hard to describe. Perhaps some scorched sugar? Highly carbonated, which is quite unusual for the style. Some earthy, burnt wood notes on the backend.

Drank four pack to the dome this evening. Not sure what came in to me. Ugly pour of ruby copper bubbly brew. Nose is some citrus and tropics and earthy. Tastes of minerals, grapefruit, orange rind, some bubblegum and crackers. Alcohol on finish

Panda 🐼 at home big thanks to Colin. A light hazed dirty brown amber coloured pour with a fine off white head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty brown brown bread, liquorice, grass. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, nutty, biscuit, fennel, grass, flabby, Palate is semi sweet, spicy cinnamon, woody tannin. This is pretty lacklustre.

Can at home, from one of the bootle shops near SHIGsville, 16/05/23. Moderately hazed golden copper with an off white cap ... not like any NE IPA/DIPA I've seen before! Nose is bitter orange, herb, citric tinged straw, pine needle, grass. Taste comprises bitter citric shreds, big chalky mineral bite, pine needle, grass, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with earthy hop bitterness allied to a light spike of alcohol. It's okay ... bitter for sure which is always good for me, but overall a touch raw and harsh in places for one to revisit. More old skool than a hazy bois.

473ml can. Hazy, orange golden colour with average, frothy to macropore, fading, white head. Fruity and spicy aroma oscillating between unpleasant urinal cake and obviously the ingredients, especially lime and vanilla, all within a sourish milieu of rotten vegetables, sauerkraut. Taste is sour, fruity with sugary, sweet-ish interludes, hints of lime and vanilla, some pineapple; again oscillating between sweet- and sourness, fruitiness and sauerkraut. Watery texture, astringent palate, medium, lively carbonation. Disharmonious, rather weird and artificial (or better: adjunct-dominated) - quite remote from my personal predilections.

Grape ale you say? I’m trying to learn about this strange world. Was learning prepandemic when I had a Sicily trip booked but once that fell apart forgot about grapes. Cloudy yellow and soapy head. Nose is Riesling sure. Tastes of white wine grapes, dough, grass, buttery, lemon, candy. Smooth and low carbonation. Interesting.
